I believe every single person that orders a vac ends up ordering the handle. It REALLY should be included as standard equipment. For a price increase of $20 or so, it should be part of the package. Some things make sense as an optional accessory but this is not one of them.

I think you would all have to admit that leaving the price uncorrected could have been a wonderful April Fools Joke....being the published date of the price hike. Frankly, that is what I was thinking all along. ;D

Sorry, if it weren't for the boom arm, I would have no interest in the handle. Without the handle, the CT22 fits nicely under the cover in my pickup. With it, no go. The vac is also easier to carry without the handle.
I'll go along with that -- but, I just wouldn't want to take it off at all.
I ordered the handle along with the vac, so I had it a year before the Boom Arm. When I first went to install the handle I felt it would have been better if the handle were to colapse or fold down. Only in the installation of the Boom Arm did I understand the logic of the design. And I, for one, think that Festool is correct in offering the handle as an option.
Ned,
I agree completely about the vacuum not being able to fit under my topper & it does carry much better without it.
Eli,
I agree completely with you that I like the handle & would not like the hassle of taking it off all the time.
Thus I have two CT 22's; one for boat work that's in my truck & one with handle & boom arm for the shop. Kind of surf & turf or the best "for" both worlds ;D & ;D
And now you see the problem with not being on the board for a couple of days. I see this topic all in Caps and I got excited thinking well Bob is about to tell us that the Price Correction is much lower overall. ;D Was not expecting it to simply be the CT 22 handle. Fred
