Price Increase

Now you have gone and done it!!!!!  NEVER ask that question.    [mad]  If we ignore it, maybe we won't have it come true.    [wink]

I honestly don't know anymore than anyone else...but...no news is good news ;) ;D :)!

I heard they're going to decrease prices this year, just trying that power of suggestion thing.

If the Canadians can decrease prices, why not..... (now the seed has been planted...)

keeping fingers crossed.  Have to go get some consumables soon, maybe i should go now before another one does happen.

I'm pretty sure though that the Canadian price decrease has more to do with the weakness of the US dollar, than any overarching scheme to lower price.
On that same note, I would expect US price increases to be inevitable... given the weakness of the dollar.  Of course, the Euro is also in a decline, so maybe things will stay still for a while yet.

The number of calls and emails from the peeps that have been coming in on this topic is amazing.  I too have not heard of a price increase.....which is a good thing.  Perhaps a new recording on the answering machine is warranted.

The silence from Indiana is deafening.

Not that it is any of our business, but I wonder what effect the announcement of a price increase has on accelerating sales?

Last year, we had a price decrease - on the batteries.

Oh, and a few new specials...

I'm in Steve's camp.

Are they normally communicated in the master catalog for that year? Do we know when the 2010 catalog will come out? I remember last year it came out in mid Feb?

Gentlemen,

The prices will go down this year.  How do I know?  I just bought tools and that's usually how it goes...  [crying]

I was just in Lebanon for the raining and we asked about a 2010 catalog.  They do not have plans for a full catalog this year, but will publish about 3 supplements over the year.  No  detail available on the contents of the supplements.  [2cents]

Any news on if and/or when they are going to announce the CMS in the US?  That is what I am hoping for.  It was mentioned on other's trip to Festool Meca that the CMS for the routers would make it this year.

Is there any possibility they will introduce some more package deals?  I remember a few years ago they had discounts when you purchased multiple tools.  Or am I falling into the beggars can't be choosers realm? [tongue]

There have been numerous other posts regarding this issue.  If you check with any dealer or Festool catalog, there are deals for multiple tools but they almost always require the purchase of a dust collector.  The normal deal is 10% off the price of the dust collector.  I now have 12 of them.  [wink]

The only exception I know of is if you buy the Kapex with the MFT/3 Kapex, you get 10% of the MFT.

Neill

Yup, I've taken advantage of those deals in the past . . . picked up the vacuum and MFT that way.  I'm looking at buying the MFK 700, 1010, & 1400.  I know a few years back they had up to 15% off if you purchased five tools.  I would be happy to purchase more sanders if that means a discount  ;D

Or if you buy a TS saw with the MFT.

Festool Czech republic decided to increase price of all expendable supplies. For instance Domino tenons are 75% more expensive! Their financial gain probably droped so they want to compensate it by price increase of abrasives, tenons etc. Their prices are so crazy now here I'm ending with Festool. I can buy big stationery machines for these prices.

It's not about price guys.......it's about prestige!      Or so I like to convince myself of ???
