Just got notified via email from "tool nut" will not be shipping my pre-order  (PRO 5 LTD).

..."Due to overwhelming demand, we will not be recieving all PRO 5 sanders be the Nov 1st ship date..."your sanders is on the way, but at this time we do not have an ETA".  Delayed with no ETA of shipping, did anyone get a similar email?

Hi Shane,

Although disappointing, things do happen.  So no worries.  What's really cumbersome is the no eta.

Renovatedspaces hush.  I know a dealer who got in big trouble with Festool for selling a new tool the night before it officially went on sale.  Shipping date for these, according to Shane, is 11-1.

Hey, I'm not about to throw anyone under the bus.
No problem.  Maybe they are a paint store that just started selling Festool and haven't read the fine print?  Maybe you should call them and let them know so they can get a hold of anyone else they have sold to and tell them to not send in the registration until 11-1.

Just talked to my dealer.  He said they just got some sanders in (half as many as they ordered) and that, as far as he knew, they couldn't sell them until 11-1.

Some may not like me saying this, but I am a man of principle.

I hope [member=57769]TylerC[/member] uses your IP to find your location, Festool reps in the area visit all the dealers before 11/1 in the area and take an inventory of what's on hand versus what they were shipped, resulting in your dealer getting busted and excluded from several future new product introductions.

Same with the guy's dealer who posted on Instagram.

In business, your word and your ethics mean everything. That means playing by the rules. If you're dealer will cheat Festool, they will cheat you sooner or later. I'm sure [member=5]Bob Marino[/member] will agree.

Good for you...Shane  [thumbs up], this new sander introduction has been a tempest in a tea pot from the very beginning, let alone with the other recent launch distractions. I think everyone likes to be part of a fair game, but when the gaming involves other parties that don't follow the rules, then a referee needs to be called in to bring things back in line. The whole idea of everyone needs to follow the rules except for me, needs to be discouraged. November 1st is the date...period.

I've definitely been watching these and passing them.

In order to keep things fair for dealers and customers alike, Festool has certain expectations for our dealers. Not selling a product before its launch date -- regardless of how unusual the product launch has been -- is clearly one of these. (This isn't unique to Festool in any way. It's pretty standard stuff.)

I hope that tirade wasn't directed at me.  My dealer sold one a few hours early many years ago because he was going on vacation the next day.  The customer mentioned it on here and my dealer got in trouble.  He hasn't done it since.

[member=18386]JonSchuck[/member], my comments were directed at dealers who do blatantly thumb their noses at Festool's policies. Not any customer, yourself included. It's the dealer's choice whether to give product to a customer before an official release date. I was simply saying that I hope Festool pursues tracking these dealers down and laying the smack down.
