i am not suggesting design inexperience. I am curious as to why. Frequently the decisions that govern a design are not known by the observer. This is why I am interested in the design process that people go through. As an insight into the mind. I am an engineer and design considerations that are not expected or self evident can have a dramatic impact on the design. So in this case considering the general thoughtfulness of the builder and his attention to detail, I am curious. I have a friend who built a beautiful chest of drawers. The drawer pulls and details were a mystery to me ,because of their free form nature. When I asked him why , he said he drew his inspiration from carbide structures in various alloys. As soon as he said this, it made perfect sense and was impressive. you could see the dendritic structure going through the chest of drawers. What seemed to be random was not.
