I know I suck. Yes iPhone. At this point it’s like a running joke on this forum. I post directly from my iPhone. Not sure what I do to mess it up.

It is not you who messed, somehow iPhones fail to include correct positioning data in their pictures. If you want to make your pictures public on a forum you should run your pictures through an editor first to correct this.

But your desk's looking good though, even sideways.  [smile]

Nice desk.
Matt, as a side note - all my pictures from iPhone going to "Photo" program on iMac and with export from it for any forum - no problem with picture rotation. [cool]

Matt, I use a paid version of Tapatalk. Well worth it. Lots of great features for any type of forum reading/writing.

Table is looking sharp mate!

Cheers. Bryan.

Looks good.

At first I was thinking why does that desk have glass fronts on it?  [eek]

Then on closer inspection I noticed the images are all rotated 90 deg.  [embarassed]

It's too bad the forum software doesn't let you rotate an image after uploading. Doing it before hand it _may_ look right side up on your PC but once it's uploaded all bets are off. Happens on other forums too, not just here.

I've had the same problem. Tried many different image manipulation apps. It doesn't seem to matter what orientation the image is before I upload it. Some (but for me not the FOG) forums will do what they want with the image and rotate it to their liking regardless of how it was when I uploaded it.

I've tried stripping out all the personal information that does not appear to help. On some forums I found that once the image is uploaded if you delete it from a post say because it is rotated and then edit your original on your PC (doing nothing more than rotating the image and saving it) then upload again that IF it has the same filename it will appear to have uploaded but the server sees it already has that file and doesn't replace the file. I found if I gave the image a new filename after I did whatever manipulation it needed then I could upload it and it would be accepted. But that didn't guarantee the image would display right side up.

I've tried to outsmart the software and if the image was being displayed rotated 90° CW I would adjust the image orientation s that the forum software would rotate it CW 90° and it would be right side up but that didn't always work either.

Again, I'm talking about other forums using different software, vBulletin being a popular one, I'm not sure of the others used on other forums I have visited over the years.

So I don't think it's something you are or are not doing that causes this.

Drawer fronts - Bolivian rosewood inlays. First time. Harder than it looks!

Bob & Matt...FWIW...I'll take photos with an iPhone.
Send them to my computer, then orient them properly, reduce the size to 2000 x 1500 and save them. That's it. Larger files cause issues.
Even if the photo appears to be properly oriented when I receive it in the computer, I will still rotate it anyways. I've been doing this for the last 2 years and it seems to always work.

The only issue I've had is when the photo hits the computer oriented properly and I forget to rotate it.  [crying] I still need to rotate it or it will post in any one of 4 different positions...that's the crap-shoot.

Matt...nice looking desk...simple, functional and easy to move.

Nice job, Matt.
Those Bolivian rosewood inlays really set the whole job off in spades
