Wife has wanted these for a while. Used maple and plywood. 6 of them with Blum slides (harder than I thought they would be!)

Nice work [member=67555]mattbyington[/member]

Thanks for continuing to share your projects with us.

As usual , great job. I am redoing my kitchen. Getting rid of the Door, shelf, cabnet,thing and going to drawers. Not sure what you call that. At 6-4 bending over and having to look around a s shelf that is down by my ankles, nope, done with that. Out of curiosity, why not go to a drawer, instead of a cabinet door plus drawer? Great work, by the way. Just curious.

I dont know if it's age, wisdom or a combination of both but Im done with doors on lower cabinets for myself too. I'm sure he went with pullouts so he wouldn't have to try and make new fronts. I think all future kitchen cabinets will be 100% drawers for myself.  It's more expensive but worth it.  Like tallgrass said hunting around in the lowers stinks and everything ends up pushed way to the back lost and forgotten. Pullouts at the very least

When we redid our kitchen, we made the move to all lower drawers too (even under the sink).    It works very well.    We included two freezer drawers, I have come to like that a lot too.

Great pictures op and I also went with drawers only on my kitchen build.
Also used blum soft closing under mounts and could not be happier.

Two possible reasons for pullouts over drawers, traditional looks, and adjustability. You can adjust the placement of the center pullout to accommodate large items but your stuck with the drawer size  once its done.

The way I deal with that is with my frameless cabinets is that while most of them are three drawers.
Small one on top, the two lowers are equal spaced and where I need a deeper drawer I only have  one lower one with a false front that looks like two regular lowers.
If my needs change and I need more deeper drawers I could also remove the upper lowers make a new false front or just join the two existing one.

Looks good. I'm with others on the functionality of these and drawers over bending over and driving back into a regular cabinet.

One thing I would add is a roll out bumper to the hinge side of the pull out. Keeps the pull out of hardware from scratching a door when the roll out shelf isn't fully into the cabinet or the door isn't open fully when pulling out the roll out.

[member=28223]SoonerFan[/member] thanks so much!

[member=2242]tallgrass[/member] I'm 6'4" as well! I'm with you man. Honestly .. just didn't want to have to re-do the fronts by making drawer fronts, matching whatever stain is on the kitchen, etc etc. By doing drawers inside I didn't change the exterior look of the kitchen if that makes sense?

[member=4427]acer66[/member] thanks!!

[member=59925]Stunt[/member] my wife literally added bumpers a few days ago to them, good call indeed!!

I agree with all on the drawers over doors .
I would think,to have a balanced kitchen ,you need a mixture of doors and drawers.
I would do the same,put some behind the doors.
Cheers,Charlie
