My wife requested a new dining table. It is going to match the home bar I built recently.

(Link to home bar build):https://www.festoolownersgroup.com/member-projects/(project-41)-curly-maple-home-bar/

I have 200 b.f. of maple in 8/4 thickness, and I have the design done.

Should be a fun build!

You have  a reclining chair in your workshop? That is just  plain taunting. :)

Considering your joinery, have you heard or read of the work from Maloof? On the serious side.

Numbering your projects just rubs it in.

out of interest how long have you been woodworking?

and you have to many tools for your own good.  you need to give some to me [big grin]

Recliner? How bout folding camp chair.
Great looking Matt! Thanks for the nice pics too…you’re keeping busy!

I was talking about the folding chair. I am just giving him grief. Amazing work, fantastic work ethic and now he is taunting us with comfort.  [big grin]

[member=2242]tallgrass[/member] the numbering makes it easy for me to search or point people to the forum :) if they ask on Instagram or something for more pictures. I have heard of Maloof! Famous chair designer right? I know a lot of people make pieces in that style.

[member=72337]notenoughcash[/member] about 3-4 years now! Haha. I do like my tools, you're not wrong there.

[member=41086]Vondawg[/member] thank you sir! Appreciate it!

[member=2242]tallgrass[/member] hahah the chair is really nice when I want to sit down in the shop...there's nowhere else to sit and if it's 6-8 hours down there sometimes I get tired and need a few minutes to rest!

Matt

Keep up the great work.  Why did you use so much of the origin tape? I would not think you would have to surround the cutting area like that.  I also have changed my workflow with the shaper Origin, a kind of hybrid approach.  I will use the Origin to  do the detail edge work, then come in with a much heaver router to hog out the rest of the material. In your example, I would use the origin to cut out the outline of your glass pocket to the tune of 1/2 an inch, then come in and hog away all the interior material, with a much larger robust bit, in a much larger router. Just a thought. 2 cents. :)

Really nice job Matt... [big grin]...I also like how you softened the design just a little bit with the radiused parts. It's still a very modern design that's had the edge (figuratively & actually) taken off.  It also looks cleaner without the additional braces of the original design.
