PROOF! Protool merging with Festool?

I will say though, I have yet to find a tool from Protools current line that I am drooling over.
Yeah, but what do you know, you're still a rookie. [tongue] [big grin]

Interesting, very Interesting developement.

I like the idea of the selling off of the protool stuff at lower prices as I prefer the orange look.

The retracting cable is spring loaded and can be adjusted from 0,5 to 3kg if I remember correctly It has a hook for the celling  and a carabine hook for the tool. I use mine for my nail gun when i have a lot of stapeling to do and it lifts the gun out the way and take the weight out of the wrist

Obviously you guys didn't pay attention to the video, because it is absolutely clear that Festool is merging with Chrysler. Starting next year, all Dodge Ram trucks will be available only in black and green, and will be re-branded Das Schaf.

Thanks, Frank-Jan & Pip for the explanation on the spring loaded cable. Good idea.

It's called a tool balancer, and they are fairly common. You can adjust the spring tension to account for the weight of the tool that they assist you in holding up. It permits easy movement of a tool, but takes away the main weight of the tool to prevent operator fatigue.

I have one from Ingersol Rand (also shown above) mounted on my ASA 5000 boomarm to keep the vac hose from dragging on the floor. It keeps the unused part of my vac hose in a loop. I picked it up used for about $20 on eBay.

ROFLMAO!  Thanks for injecting a little humor into this thread, Rick :)  Chrysler could only be so lucky.

This is humiliating.  The worlds only super power.  Trips to the moon and space shuttles.  Big whoop.  75% of our wooden furniture comes from Asia and we can't make a decent drill.  Begging and whimpering for imported tools like dogs whimpering for scraps.  Is this what we've sunk to?  It's enough to make you weep.

Fine, new tools from Festool.  I've already spent thousands, why not more.

If there was an American made equivalent then I spend my money with them, but there isn't one.

I concur...We've sold our proverbial souls to crappy r&d and cheaply (mostly Chinese) made goods sold in Home Centers-literally. All in the name of low prices..So I have all this dough laying around from all the money I save from shopping at Wal-Mart now I have to do something with it. Figured Festool was a good place to blow it all.  [big grin]
