You could always make your own, ask TIMTOOL

Exactly, I hope Festool is paying TIMTOOL for the idea.

TIMTOOL wasn't exactly the first person to come up with that idea.

I saw TIMTOOL post a You Tube Video on the internet.  And everything on the internet is the truth, therefore, he was the first.  [poke]

Think the 4,2 means 4,2Ah

New batteries design with rubber protection
New sds drill bit...

Look at the stickers under the light of the BHC18... It seems that is also used for charging batteries.
Maybe it is an hybrid drill using batteries and 230V/110V plug-it sector ??? ???

Theses new stuff'tainers are really cool !!! [cool]

The batteries are protool batteries with festool colour.

I own the Protool ones and although I like the rubber for added protection for me I dont think its needed and I would prefer them with out.   It makes the batteries heavier and a lot more bulky.

Im very interested in this charger indicator on the front it does seem to indicate a Hybrid type of drill!   Which would be AWSOME!

Down side it looks like it has hammer/drill action but not a chisel action which is disappointing

Under the light of the explanations battery indication. 4.2 - is 4.2 Ah battery. Rubber frame will fit the classic Festool. Battery PROTOOL is slightly different and will also make the Festool.

The new BHC 18 is not an hybrid.
The stickers under the light only indicates the battery charge/load.
It's the same as on the Protool PDC/DRC line or UNI light.
Some Protool parts or machines will show up on Festool products.
The BHC is a new product but with existing parts from Protool.
Batteries are also from Protool models only with 4,2 Ah instead of 3 Ah.

I am REALLY looking forward to the possibility of seeing that tool box stateside!

So i wonder if that rubber frame will fit our existing batteries.  Would be nice to have that bumper edge  for sure.

It looks like it will fit any of the newer batteries - it uses the same mounting as the metal belt-clip.

Bring on the new SDS drill.........

2 X Protool CHP26's coming up for sale very soon.......

Well they wont be any good then 100% chance of them falling off.    Them belt clip things are terrible festool made a poor design on them.  EVERY one of mine have broken off with in a few months.

So the rubber bumper edge will just fall off if they are held on the same way.

Yes, that does seem like a rather strange omission...  most of the larger rotary hammers (SDS MAX class) don't offer regular drilling features, but just about every modern rotary hammer I've seen offers a hammer-only (chisel) mode.

I wonder if it is regular drilling it can't do and the mode in the picture is not set correctly to match the bit?  That would be far more acceptable than not having a chisel mode at all.
