Proud to say that i've just purchased my first festool and it's a domino 500. Bought it with ct36e as a package deal and a 50mm hose.
Couple of questions:
1) it only comes with one cutter that cuts 5mm? i read from a review (http://www.garymkatz.com/ToolReviews/festool_domino.htm) that it comes with 5 cutters and even a bit container.
2) i was asking the dealer, if it comes in a like a cardboard box, but they said nope. they all come in a systainer only.... so no packaging, no shrink wrap. Found it a bit funny.. when i got it, it looks like i just bought a out of the box product... hum.
3) how can a 50mm hose with a 38mm reducing coupler be used here. it got a 27mm dust port.

Thanks all!
nice to be part of the festool family.

Cool stuff!

I am pretty sure the Domino itself comes with only one cutter. The Dominos assortment Systainer comes with various sizes of Dominos, as well as the needed cutters, in the little plastic holder you mentioned...

In N America anyhow:

Festool 498899 Assorted Domino Beech Tenons and Cutters (For DF 500)

Includes:

    4 x 20mm Tenons (450)
    5 x 30mm Tenons (225)
    6 x 40mm Tenons (150)
    8 x 40mm Tenons (100)
    8 x 50mm Tenons (75)
    10 x 50mm Tenons (60)
    D4mm Cutter (1)
    D5mm Cutter (1)
    D6mm Cutter (1)
    D8mm Cutter (1)
    D10mm Cutter (1)

i was just doing some math on that particular package. So in short you get
1) all 5 cutters
2) a systainer

If you buy them separately, you basically get the whole containers of dominos for 22$ or so.

Assuming of course, that you're gonna get all 5 cutters.

Not sure that it can be?

Festool hoses go from 27mm to 36mm.  Some of the tools can only be used with the 27mm hose.  Others are designed to take the 27mm hose inside the dust port or the 36mm outside.  I *think* the Domino is one of the 27mm only tools...  If you actually mean a 36mm coupler (not familiar with 38mm), then assuming the Domino is one of the 27mm only tools, this might help:http://www.bobmarinosbesttools.com/hose-adapter-27mm-to-36mm/p/HOSEADAPTER/  If it really is a 38mm connection, you will need some other sort of adapter, or a new hose.

Is there a reason why you got the 50mm hose?  It's not antistatic, and is more suited for shop cleaning.  The non anti-static nature should not be an issue for an intermittent cutting machine like the domino, but if you do get a tracksaw or a router, you might notice the difference.

Domino is 27mm port only, though there should be a way using a series of reducers to hook it up to the 50mm, but that's awful bulky for a light machine like the Domino.  Never mind the interference the 50mm hose might cause on a tracksaw or sander you might add to your kit in the future!  I'd consider swapping it out for a smaller hose.

It's worth it to get the domino assortment systainer, as you get all sizes of dominoes along with all the cutters.  Sorry you didn't realize that before buying the machine.  Welcome to the hidden costs of Festool.

...

I learn like Pavlov's Dog, so any electro-shock therapy during cleaning, would likely put me off of cleaning for a while.

Then the Mrs static would be en'full'force.

Basically, I am anti static all the way.
