Just bought a used ps 300 trion. Upon reading the instructions, I adjusted the "clamps" around the blade with the allen wrench so that they were as close as possible, but blade could still move freely. Used jigsaw, seems to work correctly, but I noticed there is wear on the blade(took the paint off a brand new blade), from rubbing up against the "clamps". Is this normal? Should I give the blade more lateral movement?(It is not snug, I can move it laterally, but it is not sloppy.)
If this is normal, will it affect the long term use of the blade, ie will I have to replace the blade more often? Will it affect the straightness of my cuts?
Thanks for your help.

It's not abnormal for the paint to get rubbed off. It shouldn't be so tight that it blues the blade.

Check out the video below, starting at the one minute mark. Same process applies to the Trion.

I wouldn't worry about the paint - that's pretty standard. Like Shane said, as long as you don't see colour changes in the metal of the blade from heat . . .

All the paint wears off my blades like that and my blades don't last less time than I expect.

Love my Trion - My favourite jigsaw ever, and I also own an 18v Carvex  . . .
