PS2E Jigsaw Dust Extraction

I've used my PS2E for many years, but this is the first time I need dust extraction. The user guide says to fit the (round) sleeve of a 27mm hose onto the (oval) extraction nozzle. I did that, and it does fit. However, it seems like it's going to pop off at any minute, probably in the middle of a cut if I bump the hose or put it in the slightest amount of tension.

What am I missing? There's got to be a better way.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is how it was done back then, there is no better way - unless you're going to build/ maybe 3d-print something that could serve as adapter/connector between the oval port and round sleeve/nozzle.

EDIT: And as I thought, there are aftermarket adapters/connectors. I don't know if Festool had only one size of the oval dust port, but here's a perfect example of a 3d-printed aftermarket accessory:https://www.ebay.de/itm/174207383214

Just fit the 27mm hose over the oval connector and make sure it's on all the way. It shouldn't come off that easily.

What extractor are you using? Festool with the old sleeve/nozzle? If so, you should be good to go.

Kind regards,
Oliver

Thanks for the info. I'll just leave it as is and hope for the best.

I'm not familiar enough with the equipment to know what the old sleeve/nozzle is. I'm using a CT22 and the 452878 hose, both from the same era as the PS2E.

Yes. That hose has the "old" sleeve/nozzle without the bayonet type locking. If that is not too worn, it should sit perfectly on the dust port of that jigsaw and not come off too easily.

I think you're good to go. :)

Kind regards,
Oliver

I have the OF 1010 router, RAS 115 sander, RS 2 sander and the DX 93 sander and they all have the oval dust port. Just work the hose onto the dust port in a rocking/twisting back-and-forth motion until it's fully seated and will not go any further, it'll be fine.

Here's what Oliver was referring to, the original 456756 connector on the left and the new 500668 bayonet connector on the right. Both connectors will fit on the oval dust port, however the original 456756 item will be 5X easier to fit over the oval dust port.

Do yourself a favor and get an adapter from Toolcurve. I use the one for Ras115 everyday and it has saved me countless hours of frustration.

Stay away from Tool Curve. Bad experience. I ordered 4 adapters. 2 were right,  and the other 2 did not fit properly. Reached out to him multiple times with photos and videos. He did not respond at all. It's a 1 man show. And customer service is pathetic. Sorry had to share this experience so others don't get fooled. There are other companies. Search and we should have a thread listing other 3d printed adapter suppliers.
