I just noticed that the adjustable blade guides on my PS 300 Barrel jig saw are very worn at the front edge. I don't use it much, and it is less than a year old.  Is it a warranty item, or is it something that wears out quickly?  My guess is that I have used it about 6 times, did adjust  the guides each time.

Hi Dave and welcome to the Forum!  I am going to move your post to the Ask Festool area where it might get noticed a little sooner.

Dave,

Welcome to the forum. I wish it were on better circumstances. The carbide guides are considered a wear item. If set properly, they should last much longer than you're reporting. Also, normal wear would occur on the inside of the guides rather than the front edge when properly set. A photo of your situation would be helpful, if you could share one on the forum or email it to me at sho@festoolusa.com. Thanks.

Are you referring to the fact that there is sort of an "entrance chamfer" on the front?

If yer talking about the clear doo hicky, Ya can buy a pack of them. I buy them by a pack of 10 (I think). Also if ya got a TS 55 the green thingy on the side of the saw needs replaceing every ow and then to. I just bought a packof them too.

Somethings are sacrificial/ disposable and need replacing periodically.
