Some more insight which might be helpful for those who haven't yet the possibility to see it themselves via the Work App. I hope it's of interest.
In relation to actually using the capability of these BT batteries and tools for more than just starting up a CT, here's some of the info available in the Work App, something I'd hope Festool will make available elsewhere also.
I can get an overview of all my batteries and current status, whether or not they're installed in a tool, charge status, temperature etc.

I can pick a battery and flash the LED indicators to identify which one in the set I'm looking at on the app, or to help find it in a van, dark space, whatever..

If I want to see what kind of usage the battery has had, I can see the number of charge cycles, how many times it's triggered the CT, whether it's had overheating instances etc. This is a newer battery and I don't know why it has experienced an overheating instance, so it's one that'll go back to Festool, for example..

If I'm working anywhere I might either leave a battery behind, or where someone might pick it up and walk off with it, I can enable proximity alarms and receive a notification if the battery goes out of range. Totally up to me if I want to use it or not, but the option is there. I can also set it alert me if I'm leaving my workshop and the batteries I'm taking are flat. Not an issue with many available in my case, but I can certainly see how that could save the day for someone.
And as you can see, I'll also get an alert when a connected BT equipped tool throws an error. That includes things like over-temp and suction loss on my CT's. Useful options for tech-savvy users anyway, with practical uses, not just as novelty functions.

If I'm prepared to keep my kit up to date with an occasional firmware update, and of course being in the fortunate situation where this app is available to me, it would seem to be a good idea to do so considering the expense of buying this gear in the first place.
All that said, you can always just work with what you have until it doesn't work for you, but plenty of folks will want to have these facilities available to them. I think it's only a matter of a little time before they make the Work App available in the US and RoW (Rest of World) also. This is the way things are going and I reckon that's a good thing.
