I know some version this topic has been discussed in the past, but I'm specifically interested in replacing the long, attached power cord on Festool "E" model tools (EHL 65 E, RS 2 E, RAS 115.2 E, etc) with a Plug-It compatible pig-tail cord.  This makes the DE Hose, Power Cord combination much more usable.  I realize this voids the warranty, and all my "E" tools are long out of 3 yr warranty anyway.  I noticed Paul Marcel had such a set-up on his RS 2.

Thanks for all help and suggestions,

edit - I know title says Female socket, BUT I meant male end

Unfortunately these Plug-it tails are NAINA.
You have to buy them in Europe and I can deliver you a few if you want.
Changing the cords is quite easy.
Have a look at this FOG topic: Everything you wanted to know about Plug-Its conversions (USA Version)

Dadgum that's close.  That pigtail is 16 AWG and I would really like 14 AWG as that's what's attached to the DE hose, but that may have to work.

Thanks,

Don

Thanks!  Do you know if theses are 16 AWG or 14 AWG?  I'm going to the link you provided now to study up on this.  Thanks.  As for ordering some, please pm me and we'll set something up.

My understanding (and I could be wrong), is the two choices are 16awg and 18awg.  That is what I walked away with after reading the link above:

Yep, I screwed that one up really well.  You are absolutely correct!  I have a great deal of difficulty with electricity and electrical specifications.  I was thinking incorrectly it was 14 awg and 16 awg where, as you indicated it's 16 awg and 18 awg.  Thanks for straightening this out, and you can see from the title of my post where I called the male end the female.  Oh well.

Thanks for all your help, it is appreciated.

Just a note from my memory regarding the plug it conversion kits.

A while back a member here attempted to get a large order together for bringing back to NA for these.  I believe that the exposure here of his efforts and also some direct contact with Festool stifled that effort.

If you are living in NA and wish to do this at your own risk you may want to reach out to others willing to help away from the public areas at this point.

Just email or message me guys. Pigtail are readily available here in the US now, but posting it up on the forum may or may not ruin it for people. So best we keep off the forum as Peter says.
