Hello, my first post here. I have a question about the Rotex 90 sander. I am trying to use my shop vac to extract dust and the hose has a 2.5” end.  The hose festool recommends has a 2.25 connection. Has anyone used this $130 hose to connect to an existing vac they have? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks y’all. :)

I've used the Festool hose on the Ridgid vacs and the Rigid hose on the Festool CT. The biggest issue with the "shop" vac is you loose variable suction.

I got tired of the noise and scream on the Ridgid vacs. The Festool DC are much quieter. Not sure if you have a midi, ct15 or one of the FT siblings, but worth the investment in sanity. The ridgid vacs will wake up the neighbors? Also the disposable bags for the vacuum are greatly appreciated verses dumping out a large tub and taking a dust bath in the process

Yes, I had one of the sliver/gray "non-antistatic" Festool hoses connected to an ordinary shopvac and even an I-vac switch to turn it on from the tool. I used it with the DF500 and RO90. It did work ok, the noise and dumping the cannister were really the only issues. Neither of the tools I had at the time needed to suction adjustment ability.
Since losing all of it to a fire, I bought a CT26 and wouldn't go back to the other way. I just wish I could get the older style hose ends like that one had.
