Hi folks
I'm building a double edge-guide for my router.
Now i'm in dire need of the exact distance c-c of the rods that hold the edge-guide and/or the holes for the rods on the baseplate.
I've measured myself a couple of times,it's in the 78-79 mm ballpark, but could somebody else be so kind as to verify or refute my measurements?
Thanx a lot for the help!

The rods are 8 mm. With the rods in the OF 1400 my calipers show out to out dimension 87.2 mm and an in to in dimension of 71.2. The center to center is the 79.2 mm center to center. Hop that helps.

Apparently I need a better caliper, what do you think Tom?

There's no telling who's measurements are more accurate. I stated "nominal" because I would think the designer used an even dimension. It would almost make more backward engineering sense at 80... The tolerance stack, the way I measured, was silly but the result, using (nominally) 8mm rods, was about 79. I made some assumptions to come to 79 nominal.

I'd say you tried to be more accurate...

Tom

@Tom: i assumed the same. It was bit of a 'hammer-fit' to get the rods into place.
Coming to think of it: maybe we should open a sticky-thread where we document measurements made on machines..
