We finally have things worked out and I'm ready to announce the new distributor for Qwas Products. First I would like to apologize for the delay. I thought it would only take a few days to get something formalized but it is much more involved than that. It required going back to the start up of Qwas Products in 2008 and starting all over again. Along the way, we noted some minor improvements that could be applied to the products and incorporated them into the new production run.

When I started looking for a new distributor, I needed someone we could all trust, someone who would be a man of his word, and provide great service. This fits (almost) all Festool dealers but one name always comes to the top of the list. That name was Bob Marino. He was more than willing to take on the task.  [smile]

Bob will be in charge of almost all sales and customer service. The only exception will be custom orders and I will continue to take care of them (smaller length head, larger diameter, etc…). This will leave me free to get back to inventing. If you have problems or questions about using the products, you can contact either me or Bob.

I mentioned some minor improvements were made to the product line. Most of these were very minor and nothing worthy of discussing or upgrading your existing products. The one exception is the Rail Dog. It is now longer and will allow you to work with wood up to 3 3/4" thick. There won't be 2 different models, all future Rail Dogs will be this length.

I know I told some of you that Bob would be ready to take orders starting today but I was wrong. He still needs to input everything into his warehouse system and web-site, which will take time - should be mid-late next week. But at least he's close to being ready and this gives everyone a chance to think about their order as they are snowbound the next few days.

Just a quick reminder, Dan Clermont will continue to service Canada. He has done an excellent job and will continue. New stock is headed his way to get him geared up to handle our Canadian friends.

Just a quick note; I am proud to be selling/associated with Steve's products. They are innovative, simple in design, yet in their  own way elegant; worthy of the  Festool tools they will enhance.
As Steve, mentioned,  just a few details need to be ironed out and they will be ready to go.

Bob

Good news!

I was just looking for some of your ebay auctions last night....and wondering when someone may start selling Qwas dogs...

I will be keeping an eye on Mr. Marino's site!

I've been very disappointed with eBay sales.
Not enough activity to pay for their high rates and high risks.

Congratulations, Steve and Bob!  Funny, I'd been meaning to email you, Steve, to ask where your products were being sold in the US these days, so this was timely news.

Regards,

John

Wahoo!  I think Steve got this whipped up so quickly to keep me from spamming him any longer asking about a new dealer :)  j/k

The newer, longer rail dogs sound intriguing.  I use the rail dogs (old skool model) often for other things than the guide rail; longer models will give more possibilities.

Glad to hear it... nothing against Bob but he won't send tools to the Great White North! [laughing]

Besides, Dan set me up with my first Festool. I'll have to ping him to find out about the new Rail Dogs. The original QWAS dogs are pretty crafty and are pretty durn handy!

Good news!

Bob, any chance of having a USPS Priority shipping option for QWAS Products and the other small knick-knack type stuff for those of us west of Los Angeles?
