I can not get a secure hold on the sanding disc for removing it.  The pad is worn almost smooth.  In addition, my owner's manual has been misplaced.  I checked the Festool web site but it does not list an owner's manual for this model.  I would rather not have to send the sander in to the service center for repairs.  I have watched Paul's review of the tool from about 12 years ago.  But I can not remove either the disc or or the shroud.  Any ideas?

Thanks,
John

Thank you.

I was able to find the owner's Manual after looking a third time.  I still cannot remove the disc following the instructions.  I may try again tomorrow.  Getting frustrated and probably should send it for repair before losing my patience and do more damage.

After leaving the RAS 115E sander alone, I went back today and was able to remove the stubborn disc.  I find, that sometimes walking away from a difficult task for a period often helps.  I used a Jorgenson style wood clamp to hold the sander.  I next secured the wood clamp to my MFT style bench. Next, I used the tool's wrench to remove the disc. No damage to the sander or me.

ha! glad you got it resolved. I went to look at mine last night to offer some suggestions but then I guess I saw a squirrel...

I recently went to use it and found that the pad had kinda disintegrated since my last use 6-8 months ago. Made for nothing to hang on to. So I did basically what you did.
