I will be assembling a large (8' by 7') complicated reception desk that I made for a Pilates studio.

I made the large pieces to be mated with Domino tenons and inset screws. One end of each tenon is already glue in place. The other end is not glued as of present.

I've done one dry fit and everything went into place.

I am wondering if I even need to glue the tenons as the screws will pull the pieces together.

All the pieces are already painted and I'm worried that the glue squeeze out will mess up the painted surfaces.

The studio owner know some touch up will probably need to be done.

P.S. The pieces will be transported to the studio in a flat pack. There is no need for the reception desk to be disassembled.

If you use PU glue (the kind that ‘foams’), it cleans up nicely without leaving a residue on the paint (but it never hurts to use some tape!).

This sounds like a large piece once fully assembled. It might be wise to allow for disassembly so it can be moved should the company move to a new location or they need to relocate within the same facility.

Not a bad idea to plan for a possible move.  The Domino connectors work really well to draw the pieces together.  I just built two loft beds with that method.
