Hi,
on my Oliver jointer I need to get the motor rewound from 440v to 220v/440v dual voltage.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a place, whether in my area or in yours? I would ship it out if the price and referral is good. Locally I have gotten a quote for $800 from a so-so place and $2,300 from a more reputable place. If I could find a place that's well-recommended somewhere in between, the cost of shipping would be worth it.

Can't help on the rewind, but...have you looked into a VFD as an option? Seems like it would be far cheaper.

[scared] I see you're in Washington.  Transportation is going to be spendy, so Jim's isn't likely to solve your problem.

BTW, the Zundel Sliding Door is very nice.  [smile] One of my last paid installations was a door like that, albeit not nearly as fancy as what you made.

I'd recommend finding local that is EASA Accredited.  Otherwise the shipping is gonna be crazy. BTW, I just looked at your website, man you are SUPER skilled!  Those are some beautiful projects!

Am putting in a 30hp RPC to power multiple machines. And a VFD doesn't transform voltage, only a transformer does that.

Thank you very much! The homeowner is taking so long doing their remodel, I forget I have to go back and install it someday.

Good to know. Found another place that wants $800 to rewind the stator. Will ask about their accreditation / licensing.

Thank you for the compliment!
