WTH is going on with Festool Recon?

Are they really releasing this much product now, like 30 emails a day...? Why all the sudden?

And you mean to tell me the Fakir Wallpaper Perforator is limiting out sale in 30 seconds...really

The supply that they are releasing must be extremely limited (like 1 or 2).

On July 6, 2018 they had 4 different MFT combos offered one after the other.  I found that kinda odd.

I'll talk with the recon team, but I know that there are many items that have very limited items remaining. So they're going pretty quickly.

I guess I really wouldn't call it Spam. I received the announcements around 10:00 last evening, however that's only 8:00 on the Left Coast. I think it's a viable method to ensure everyone gets a shot at the Recon tools.  [smile]

I dont care how many noices I get, keep'em coming and eventually the planets will align ad I can afford to get one

If you are bothered by the amount of emails you can opt out.  I have to be honest and did just that yesterday.  I am not in the market for reconditioned tools right now and the large number of emails to delete was an additional factor.

I don’t mind the volume of emails as much as the uh oh message that follows 99% of the time.  Sometimes I click just to check the price, sometimes I feel like playing the lottery to see if I can get the item.  So far, I’ve bought exactly...nothing.  So in a sense, I should be thanking them since I’ve saved money!

I think the combination of low inventory and delayed emails is what leads to that "uh oh" message the majority of the time.

I unfortunately have setup that Check4Change Firefox extension so I am notified as soon as festoolrecon.com changes.  As a result I think I've purchased 8 items off of there.

Yea, recently I’ve also had a great sucess ratio with recon tools.

When this thing started about a year ago, I never received emails until 15 minutes after it was first posted, however within the last 6 months, I now receive every email on time and have been successful in purchasing every item that I’ve bid on.    2 for 2  [big grin]

Something has changed but I don’t know what.

Well Cheese, maybe you should get me the next Domino then because  I just can't get one. I routinely click within 30 seconds of getting the emails and at least 5 or 6 times(for the Domino specifically) I have lost out. Slow DSL and a slow system provider  are a big part of it, combine that with Festool selling only one unit it's easy to see that most will lose out.

I'll get one sooner or later.

I've been keeping the recon page open and refreshing it from time to time instead of waiting for the emails. What I've discovered is that it's sometimes 10 minutes between when an item shows up on the web page and an email shows up. Way too much time for a high demand item like a Domino to be available by reacting to the email.
I tried to buy a sander last week, and it was gone before I finished the address/payment particulars.

It's frustrating and time consuming to monitor the webpage, like the lottery though, you may get lucky. I'm probably going to give up and just buy a fresh one, and figure the additional 100$'s will be the value of  2 more years of warranty.

Looking for a 500 or a 700?

The nice thing about the Domino's is there haven't been any recent changes in the package. If one comes up you don't have to worry about it being imperial or metric, which batteries does it come with, Jet Stream 1 or Jet Stream 2, 200 watt or 250 watt, yada yada yada. If the right number pops up, you can just pull the pin without any time consuming research.  [cool]
