Recon tools - the final stretch - 40% off all tools

Bryan.    You are right so...
An ETS 150/3 and a RAS, unfortunately RAS has no cover insert, guess I need to work on that. Both toys are clean as new, very happy on my purchase and addition to my Festool Goodies

Please excuse me for jumping in your thread, Bob, but i think something's fishy and I'm pretty sure we use the same process...

When a customer identifies something on the list that they want, the dealer can put it in the dealer's shopping cart on the Festool Dealer Portal. That item or those items are no longer available to anyone else. They then have 30 minutes to process the transaction. If they are processing a credit card, it can be done during that 30 minutes prior to completing the transaction between the dealer and Festool.

Another detail, the credit card should not be charged at that time, merely "Authorized". The actual charge or funds "Capture" should not take place until all of the goods ship or are picked up.

Tom

Hey Tom,

No problem at all. This thread was simply started by me announcing the Recon sale - and may have morphed at times into something much wider, but all dealers are more than enjoin the thread, in fact in this one in particular, I wish more would do so.

Bob - if I ordered Tuesday around lunchtime and haven't gotten an email or cc charge would I assume I'm not a lucky winner? Thank you.

Mark,

Not at all, but send me a PM as I am not sure of your name by your FOG tagline. Regarding the credit card charge, I am behind on that, but am catching up now - it's a good thing I have honest customers. ;)

Ti15 arrived today.  Looks and works great.  You'd never know it was refurbed.  Hard to believe it was 40% off.

Wanted to chime in with good things to say about Mr. Bob Marino.

When I saw new items pop up at 9:27pm Pacific I called Bob, went to voicemail, no doubt because he had another customer on the line. So I called every other online dealer and a few west coast local ones. Everyone went to an automatic phone system saying they open at 9am tomorrow.

I decided to try Bob one more time before giving up in frustration, and he picked up! 12:40am his time, and he takes my order like a gentleman despite my childish giddiness.

I don't know if I'll get the item, but regardless Mr. Marino was the only one ready and willing to put an order through for the commoner like me.

You bet I'll be buying my accessories and further tools from him

[wink]

Just a heads up, no tools will be added over the weekend. So enjoy some time away from the computer. [wink]

Thanks for the very kind words as they are much appreciated. More than glad to take your order, and yep, you did got the tool locked in. Festool will ship it out next week.
But I gonna whip that dead horse again and relate an incident that occurred yesterday about 6:30 pm. I was at a store picking up some items for my daughter and one of my customers called and wanted a recon tool. I informed him that I was at a store and would leave there and be home in about 20  minutes and since this was a fairly in demand tool, I can't be certain to secure it  for him and there's a decent chance it may be taken by then. Give a holler out to another dealer. He elected to wait until I got back home and it was gone. I called him and told him and he was understandably disappointed, but of course I mentioned that there's an excellent chance the tool may repopulate the list again.
A customer should be able to order directly from Festool and not be forced to lose out on his tool because his dealer of choice is not in front of the computer at after business - or during business, hours.  Customers should get their dealer of choice, not the dealer of second or third choice or dealer of last resort.
Ahum, rant over... for the moment....

When, officially, does the weekend end?

To clarify, no new tools will be added before Monday. I don't expect anything to be posted until around noon or 1pm Eastern to give west coast customers and dealers an opportunity.

Is the best way to secure a tool deal to call a dealer?  Is there any way to be in queue for when one comes up?  What if the line is busy, leave a v/m or email or call another store?

But everyone on the east coast will be out to lunch!

hahaha. I agree, I say 11 AM Eastern, give those lazy West Coasters a reason to wake up. [poke] [tongue]

There's been a lot of talk over unequal opportunity for recon sales ( this thread ). The site premise is to sell CPO... I'm not serious, just pointing out the irony of that site and this thread.

right, thats the irony.

Oh gotcha. I thought you were trying to say that the irony was they provided an consumer accessible outlet for recon tools without all the clamoring.
