Recon tools - the final stretch - 40% off all tools

I too am very appreciative. Im really impressed with the connection between this sale and this forum. Festool is listening to its market.

When someone suggested 40% off I didn't think it would ever happen.

Thanks.

I too am thankful to Festool for doing these recon sales, and especially for the 40% discounts this time around.  I was focusing on just the 30%-off tools before, so everything I've bought this time around has been at an incredible price.  Sales like this are the best (and sometimes the only) opportunity for guys like me, who don't use these tools in our jobs, to enjoy Festool quality.  The concerns I've raised in other e-mails about the format of the sale were focused primarily on the experiences of the participating dealers.  As a fortunate buyer, I can live with the uncertainty of whether I'll get what I'm hoping for.  It's not ideal, but the hassles are more than offset by the chance to buy at a deep discount off the normal price.  So thanks, Shane and Festool.  I'll keep refreshing the recon list and hoping to get lucky.

Seconding all of the positive sentiments here - the sale got me in the game, so to speak.  One neat side effect is, both my shop owner and his father in law just by watching me use my new drill want one of their own.  One nice thing about the sale, gets new people into the brand on multiple levels.

Thanks for doing this guys.

I got home today and there is a Festool box at the door [huh].  I don't recall ordering anything and I seemed to have been too slow on the sale items disappearing in under 5 min from over a week ago.  Apparently Bob has fast fingers, these were the two tools I was hoping to get... 850 planer and a RAS which were in the box.

Thank you Bob

I looked them over carefully today, they are used but the lack of any blemishes has me thinking they were 30 day returns.  I would consider them to be in excellent to slightly used condition.  Now to order some accessories.

Wow. I wish I wasn't loyal to my distributor, It would be great to deal with bob. I read so much positive stuff about him, and HE answers the phone.  That is what I like best

I also want to thank Shane and Bob for the opertunity to to buy a few items.  Even with the high volume of calls Bob was available and professional...although I'm just a laid back hobbiest so I did not pressure him to come through.

Out of the 4 items I purchased two were in very good condition, one was a well used 30 day return, and the last item looks like it was on the work site for awhile.  Kind of has a burnt (think 30 year old electric carving knife smell) and the cord has a 90 degree kink after the relief sleeve (feels like the wires are damaged).  Luckily the last item is a jigsaw that will be used very little so it should go the distance.  Personally I will only purchase items that are recent release from now on...not going to risk a classic case / older model item...

Thanks again for the sale probably pushed me from 2 tools to 4+ this year!

How about one item per phone call. At least the odds of getting one again would give the rest a chance. There shouldn't be allowed a guy buying 3 dust collectors and 2 kapex's on one call.  Clearly they're just going to sell one.

I've got a 1-2 man shop and I have 4 vacs, 2 ETS 150, 2 Drills (with several more on the van) and I'm getting a second MFT.  Would be great to have another Kapex as well as many other items which would allow me to setup on site and leave a setup at the shop.  Then there would be less setup at the shop, setup on the job site, setup back at the shop and on and on.

A 40% off allows for some duplicate tools which makes life easier and saves time.  Or should those who use the tools to generate income not be allowed to purchase more then one tool at a time?

If I had the funds a much larger brown truck would have pulled up to my house with a full load of 40% reforms.

I understand the frustration of not getting what you want and someone else getting multiple items but I also know that not everyone that buys multiple items is selling them.

I just wanted to add some thumbnails of my Kapex :D!
Recond....40% off. For the life of me I could not find any signs of use...UNTIL... I looked in the dust collection chute at the base of the blade. Tiny little bit of sawdust. The tool looks absolutely amazing. I am SUPER stoked! A email thanks to Amy Bender at Woodcraft / Woodworkers Club. Thank you so much. And thank you Bob too. I have been doing business with Bob and Amy since this all started and Bob told me last week that due to prior commitments he would be unable to be in front of a computer so orders might take a while. I truly appreciate you both. I have received honest direction and advice and it has helped me immensely! Chris Kelby - NH

Agree with the above comment... I have snagged 4 tools so far in this sale and ALL appear to never been used.  The only festool I had before this sale was the OF 1400 router.  Without this sale, that's all I would still have right now... Thanks to Ryan and Mike At US tool and fastener, tools for working wood, and Marlene at Grand Rapids Woodcraft foe taking my call on a Saturday.  I have fell down the slippery green slope.

wow, actual pictures of the extremely rare, endangered kapexicus sawsicus reconditionae in captivity.  so you're THE guy who bagged THE Kapex!  and looks like you got it set up in the kitchen for precision cutting of the deli meats...
Seriously though, that's a great score, congratulations--there's nothing like THE tool at THE price!

Seriously...this thing looks brand new. Now...gotta get it off the dining table before my wife "Educates" me on the err of my ways :)

Better do it quick, if she finds out how good this thing really is with salami, you'll never get it back.

My guess is it was a new saw.  The sawdust in the dust removal port is probably a result of the recon team testing it before they signed off.

Congrats.

I have both Henckels and Wusthofs. I have never felt a need to use power tools to cut meat.

Suddenly, I'm thinking the kerf might be useful for sausage? Perhaps the new vlies (fleece) dust extractor bags would facilitate release of ground meat for the sausage stuffer?

I'm envisioning sausage accessories for the Dust Extractors... (CT-Wurst?)

Shane, did Festool do a rolling inventory release for the Reconditioned Tool sale?  I.e. is there any reason to believe there will be any significant quantity additions to the Recondition sale?
