Reconditioned Festool Program - Save up to 20% on Festool tools

Hey guys, it's been a huge success so far to say the least.  Quantities are very limited, especially on choice new tools, like the CT 26 & 36, so if you're considering picking up one of those at the discount recon price, do it asap!  I'd say at the rate orders are coming in, all tools will be presold VERY VERY soon.

We're closing up shop for the night (7pm est)....BUT, shoot me an email at sean@toolnut.com with the products you like along with the pertinent order info (name, number, ship to, bill to) and I will process around 10pm tonight.  For right now, it's off to the climbing gym to get in a good burn.  Then back to emails a little later tonight.

I agree with you whole-heartedly, Ken.  I know that some people get really excited by this.  For some reason, discounting a used tool by 10% or 20% and taking 2 years off the warranty does not seem like a deal to me.  Now if you discounted the tool AND offered the original warranty, or possibly a 2 year warranty, this would be more attractive.

Also, is the 1 year warranty the type where Festool pays for shipping each way, one way, or not at all?  This isn't clear.

For the record, we pay shipping round trip for the reconditioned tools during the warranty period.
 
I still say it is the warranty that is the hype. Yeah I would no not do  it for 10%, but for 20% yes. That  260.00+ for a Kapex and 160.00+ off a Domino, that's worth it to me.

I am willing to bet MOST tools made by Festool NEVER go in to warranty the first 3 years. In my experience and I have a LOT of Festools, the warranty is not going to be used. Or maybe I am just super lucky.  :)

It sure seems people don't think these tools will last a measly 3 years without warranty work. They will. If I thought any Festool would break in 3 years I would not spend the kind of money these cost. Most tools will break in the first few months or last a long long time. Festool knows this, consumer reports knows it as well. We all hear the stories how something broke a few days after the warranty was up, but out of all the thousands of Festools sold I bet it is very, very few.

The Kapex and CT's and a possibly a couple other larger tools are about the only ones that cost a lot to ship. Flat rate for the sanders, jig saw, etc is 13.00. The systainers cost far more to ship than most of the tools.
 
^^^What Nick said. I can't count how many tools I have many are over three years old and I have never sent anything back to Lester and the boys for repair. [big grin]
 
Alright...Dovetail makes a good point about the warranty and when failure is most likely to occur.  Maybe I'll rethink it.
 
My C12 needed to have the motor and circuitry replaced after 2 1/2 years.  I'm sure that wouldn't have been cheap out of warranty.
 
Canadian visitors can see all the same pages on our website as US visitors. In fact, they're the same site essentially with very minor differences. There's a note at the bottom of that page that says:

Festool is not responsible for typographical errors. Prices are subject to change and are only valid for sales shipped within the United States. All prices shown are in US dollars. Reconditioned tools can not be combined with other tools for additional package savings.

However, it's my understanding that Canadian dealers may be able to sell reconditioned tools. So, check with your preferred dealer in Canada.

And, I'm getting ready to just make it completely inaccessible to Canadian visitors to reduce the likelihood of confusion. Sorry.

Shane, i don't know if you are serious about blocking the page for Canadians.  I suggest you don't.  Some of us travel frequently to the US and purchase our tools during these trips.  Blocking pages that should what's available will make it very tough to buy.  People can read the fine print.

This worked out perfect.  I've been eying a OF 1400 for a while so I had to jump on a 20% off one.  Thanks for the info.

I have been told that the tops were replaced on the vast majority of these. Remember, the tops can be turned 180 degrees and flipped over for a total of four fresh spaces to make your guide rail kerf. I can't guarantee a new top on all of them.
