Reconditioned tools

shane i tried to order my recon tools from my local festool dealer up here in alaska, they talked to their rep and said that they could not even give festool the order until the 1st of feb. now i thought that the 1st is when they started shipping?im not sure who their rep is but if that is not the case and they are taking the orders now i dont wanna get jiped and miss the boat, so if you could clarify this for me it would be great,and if we can order now maybe talk to the rep for alaska and straighten it out

There's nothing that prevents your dealer from accepting an order from you now. In fact, I would encourage your dealer to do so. However, your dealer can not submit the order for processing with Festool unit the 1st. If you want to PM or email me the name of your dealer, I'll have our regional salesperson get in touch to clarify, or will do so myself.

Thanks for the question.

no you just did, i guess it was me that was crazy cause they said exactly what you said. thanx Shane

So, if your dealer does not place the order right away, you might not get it due to low quantities?

Seems like a race for the dealers in the morning as soon as Festool opens.
How about we have a cage match and the last dealer left standing gets to place the order?  lol

I know it does not seem fair to me cause I live up in Alaska with a 4 hour time difference, I guess their thinking is since Alaska is the richest state we can afford to pay ful price  [mad]

Victor just posted a review of the OF 2000 router and I don't want to post this in his review thread but thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention. It's a great router and I think it's been overlooked by many. Worth checking out his review.

Review of Festool: OF-2000E1 as a bargain find

The reason I posted in this thread is that there's an opportunity to save even more on the OF 2000 by purchasing a reconditioned unit.

574216-10 Router OF 2000 E $342.00
574216-20 Router OF 2000 E $304.00
574268-10 Router OF 2000 Basic $309.60
574268-20 Router OF 2000 Basic $275.20

The difference between the OF 2000 E and OF 2000 Basic is the scope of delivery.

The set includes:

    * 8 mm and 1/2" collets
    * M12 to 1/2" adapter
    * Dust hood
    * Edge guide
    * Adjustment wrench
    * In Systainer 4

The basic includes:

    * 1/2" collet
    * Collet wrench
    * Dust hood
    * Standard U.S. guide bushing adaptor
    * In a cardboard box

Question about shipping. Friend of mine said that there is $25 surcharge for shipping big tools (for each, not for whole order). Is it accurate info or there is some misunderstanding?

Thank you,

Victor, shipping costs are up to your dealer. Check with your dealer.

Guys, just a quick note as a courtesy. If you don't already know, we are expecting some potentially really bad weather here in Indy tonight and tomorrow. There's a warning for in excess of one inch of ice in this area. Should that happen, reconditioned tool orders will not ship tomorrow. So, if you're ordering something with the expectation of getting it by a certain date, please plan accordingly.

Everyone is invited to my place for ice skating and curling.  [smile]

Yeah an inch of ice and maybe massive snow if that front drops south a bit. I am in the path right now and it looks  like 20" may be in the cards.

YES!

I would rather have the snow, of course. We also have a potential 12-16 inches of snow.  Looks like my snowblower may get it's first real workout.

Good luck and hope everyone happy with the outcome tomorrow.

Shane, testing the prototype Festool snowblower?

We might get snow down here in Houston this week.  [eek]. Mid 20's and windchill in the teens.  [eek] [eek] (double eek)

hey Mr. Marino,    you start placing orders at 12:01 a.m    right?  [wink]
If you need me to stay up late to make the coffee let me know! [big grin]

Yep, I'm here; may just need that coffee. And I bet that I won't be the only dealer drinking coffee at midnight either tonight!

When will notifications/charges be made as to whether or not we will receive an item be made?

I'm guessing we wont' know tomorrow, if the storm hits anyway.

There probably 1/2" of ice on the ground at my place, 20 mins from the office. If I was a betting man, I'd say the office will be closed tomorrow. It was pretty hairy just getting home from work at 5:00.
