Fully compatible with all M12 and M18 cordless products currently available, the new REDLITHIUM batteries will provide up to 40% more run-time, 20% more power and 50% more recharges than other Lithium products. The new technology will also operate in extreme temperatures as low as 0 degree F/-18 degree C and will run 20% cooler with fade free power and no memory effect. In short, users are able to instantly upgrade the performance, run-time and durability of the M12 and M18 tools they already own, simply by switching to the REDLITHIUM battery packs.

I will get as much information for everyone right from the source, the Milwaukee cordless tools production team manager, tomorrow.  It's too late today.

Looks like Milwaukee have already made their new M12 and M18 Lithium batteries out of date by introducing their new Red Lithium! The M12 and M18 havent even been out that long!

This sounds exactly like everything they said in 2005/2006 when they released the 28v Li-Ion in Europe. I own 4 of them- the first set lasted one year, the second set lasted about 1.5 years. I call them "lie-ion".
- After buying Milwaukee for over 20 years, that was it for me.

I didn't forget.  I'm just waiting for Christian to get back to me.  Different Christian than our Festool Christian, by the way.

I sure hope they fixed the batteries since the V28 LiIon fiasco. I purchased several tools - portable band saw, sawzall, hammer drills, circular saw - in the V28 version for my electricians to use. Here in the warm South, the batteries always discharged while sitting within 3 days. Does not matter if sitting attached to a tool or not. Really a major pain as always had to pre-charge the batteries before going out to work. They had lots of power but terrible for site work.

Well I currently own

M18

Jigsaw
Impact
Circular saw (Brilliant really good!)
Driver
Angle Grinder
Radio

I also own 8  18M range batteries  6 of them are the 3.0ah and 2 are 1.5 ah

The 1.5 wont work on the Jigsaw and Circular saw and Angle Grinder only on the drills and Radio.
The 1.5ah batteries are useless the impact runs them dry in no time but they last one day on the radio and the radio has space for 2 x 1.5ah so thats what I use them for now. So one in use when its empty I swap it for the other 1.5 while the other is charging then store it inside the radio again..

The 3.0 are fine I dont think they last as long as a 3.0ah should last in my opinion but they last as long as any other brand really  (apart from festool) I have had no problems with all 8 off my batteries and I use them in rotation so they all get equal use. I have had them more than a year now I think

JMB,

I still haven't gotten a call back which could mean many things like he's busy in meetings, on vacation, out somewhere or doesn't want to talk to me ever again  [big grin].  If I don't hear back from him by mid day tomorrow, since he's a new guy to this position, I'll call the guy I've known who previously had his position and is now the head of the corded tools division.  In other words I'll get the answers from the people that actually designed the stuff.  Thanks for your patience!  [thanks]

....................... lol

I want Milwaukee to bring out a Cordless Planer! They made AEG one  but I want it to be Milwaukee cus batteries.

When the new milwueakee cordless gear comes out I want to try it all and ill properly buy most of it. The Palm nailer just cus it looks fun probably wont use it much  the jacket would be nice last year when it was so cold I was on the roof man it was cold and slippery  I couldn't hold my trowel easily! Jacket would make it that little bit nicer in the cold lol A Cordles Milwaukee Fein multi master could be handy if its any good I love my Fein Multi having a cordless one saves time for a small cut.

I'm still unable to reach the guys I know at Milwaukee, but I did look into the battery technology that's published on the web (probably same stuff you already saw) and it seems that they are producing a new type of Li Ion battery in all the voltages they offer, mainly to improve cold weather performance down to 0 F.  The jacket seems gimicky to me and you'd probably get laughed off the jobsite plugging your battery packs into it, charging cell phones off of it, watching movies on the sleeves and heating up your lunch with it.  Now the flashing red light and siren would be useful.  [big grin] [big grin]

If I get in touch with them in the near future, I'll post more info.

KEN!  Where is this Info!  When is this Red Lithium coming to the UK to replace the M12 M18 batteries!

JMB

They're selling off the current stock first.  The new batteries are expected around the end of this year.  I didn't want to post anything yet because he contacted me to tell me they've been extremely busy and to give him a little time, so I didn't get all the info I was trying for.

wonder what is different about red lthiumm? wonder if it is like colbolt lithium that panasonic use

Well what ever they have inside it sounds good!  As I own 8 batteries and they are in bar with any other brand (apart from festool they seem to last ages)

These batteries I own havent even been out that long! I have had mine for 1 year now and already they are bringing new ones to replace these  [scared]  and claiming

40% More Run-Time
20% More Speed
20% More Torque

than the current but still NEW 12m 18m batteries is  impressive!  My 18M circular saw has got some power so having more speed and torgue just by having a better batterie is wicked! Its like buying a new tool!  I will defuntly buy one and ill charge them both up fully and do some test with the New M18 I already own and the EVEN NEWER ReD M18 batteries when they come out in the UK

JMB

Okay I have had enough and its time discuss this on fog!

I have tried for about 3 weeks now and I have tried it on ----> Laptop, Ipad, Imac using safari, Opera, Google Chrome, Firefox Explorer, Snowbunny

NON of them are letting me on www.milwaukeetool.com  some times it diverts me to www.milwaukeetool.co.uk but often it just LOADS LOADS and never gets any where.  It started about 3 weeks ago and I thought www.milwaukeetool.com might be under construction but this is taking the ....  I think www.milwaukeetool.com have blocked UK users from accessing the USA site now why would Milwaukee do that?  I often visited the Milwaukee USA site to keep me up 2 date as I didnt wanna buy milwaukee tools knowing der might be something new coming out in the UK soon as USA gets all the Milwaukee stuff first before UK.

Any one know?!?!?!

Ken FIND OUT!

I called them for you.  Rick didn't answer his cell so I left him the message.  Thinking about it, this is usually around the time he takes his vacation, so the issue might not be resolved immediately.  I'll keep you informed though.  I am gonna let him know that I'm ticked that his replacement never got back to me about the whole Red Lithium battery thing.

That depends on how heavy you are!

Rick just called me back but we couldn't talk.  He was rushing to pick up his son who hurt his arm.  He said he'd call me on Monday.  Hope you can hang onto my back till then.  [smile]

Just use hide IP software to get around that. Some sites would not let me view from the US, I remember having that issue a couple years ago, I can't remember the sites though. I used "hide IP" and got right in.

You can do it manually or just use a free or pay for software.
