Registration of Tool for Warranty

We register them online, no need for the green cards.

Yeah Shane told me...I was wondering about this for a while and then stumbled on the post. So Festool knows everything about me? [eek]

Part of our agreement with dealers is that they will register tools for their customers. Some send them in via fax, some register them online, some send me a spreadsheet monthly. Dealers provide very basic information about you (name, address, sometimes phone and/or email but it's not required). We do not share this information with any outside parties, ever.

If you're concerned about tool registrations, complete the tool registration form on our website. I haven't announced this broadly because I've not finished the portion of the site that will allow you to log in and view your account with all of your tool registrations that have been submitted. Feel free to go ahead and use it and once the account management portion is done, you can create an account later and it will still show all of your tool registrations by connecting your account with your phone number or email address.

Shane,

May I suggest that you include registration of Festool items by serial number...even if they aren't warrantied anymore, or in the USA.  It would greatly help if, in the event of a burglary, there was a location outside of the house or workshop where that info was kept. (Ryobi does this).  Also helpful in the event of a catastophic fire or other disaster for insurance purposes.

Just a thought.

Cheers,

Frank

Frank, discontinued tools are included already. This shows a partial list, for example.

I'd like to think I took it even a step further by allowing customers to upload an image of their receipt or invoice to keep proof of purchase on file.

Hey Shane that's awesome! And I was saying that you guys know everything about me jokingly; I don't care. You guys having everything on file has made my life easier when contacting Festool. And I know that you guys would never send my info to any third party. Although I was affected by recent "issues" I can say that your's or Festool's professionalism never came into question.
