I have a festool track saw and need to replace the guide rail plastic splinter guard.  What is the best way to remove the old adhesive without damaging the track?

Thank you.
Jeff

As mentioned, a razor blade or scrapper will do the trick. You can use acetone to clean any residual adhesive off.

No scraping needed, just use a cloth with paint thinner or white spirit to dissolve the residu.

i peeled mine right off moved it over 2mm and reused it. worked like new cause previously i used it to rip a 45 degree.

If you use a razor blade, round the outside edges first.  This will prevent the blade from digging into your rail.  Acetone or lacquer thinner will cut the adhesive quickest.

I usually use the cut edge of a piece of acrylic as a scraper, less chance of scratching anything.

I use a chisel to get most of the glue off, then denatured alcohol.
