I'm soon to undertake a full house renovation. Everything gutted out and start again job.

I need to plan it out thoroughly as there is a tight time frame and budget (it's my house)

I'm after a software package (free) where im able to set time frames for each task and also include the costing of all materials. Baisically a ghantt chart that will help me keep track of everything in one easy to use package.

Does anyone have any suggestions of whats the best to use? Im in the UK.

I just use excel and I put columns for each line item for things such as start by, complete by, order by (particularly important for those items with lead time). I know it's not exactly why your looking for. Otherwise I'm not sure what is free. I use omni products...but $$$. Are you Mac/pc?

Check out ProjectLibre.  It's good stuff, and free.

Sounds like you need something like Microsoft Project, easy to use.
Set up project schedules and track progress against estimates to complete and costs. This is what i've used on commercial projects and larger personal projects. Latest versions wouldn't be free but it has been around so long that you should be able to get an older version to use.
