Replace c12 batteries or just get a CXS?

My c12 can't hold a charge overnight anymore and replacements are gonna run me $80/battery + tax = $160 + tax. I've got the Hilti 14.4 Hammer drill and Impact set for burly work, but now thinking that I should put that money towards a new drill rather than replace the batteries. Guess I can just buy one battery and its still cheaper than a new drill.

and... its getting close to Christmas anyway :-)

Depends on what your requirements are - assuming you have the full C12 set - 3 chucks, etc and everything is in top shape and working 100% - If it were me I'd just get new batteries. The CXS set costs a lot more than that. However if you really think you need a lighter weight drill for most of your work, The CXS is a good choice if as you say, you have a heavier drill for periodic heavy work

My suggestion...  Buy one C12 battery AND a CXS. That's what I did.  You'll probably use the CXS 90% of the time.  And you have the C12 for the few times you'll need it.

Dan.

This is kinda what we did.

Our C12 is still running strong but we picked up the CXS anyway.  The CXS is now our go-to drill for all cabinet and trim work.  The C12 we primarily use for "contruction" work when our remaining DeWALT dies from lack of energy; i.e. the batteries die. [embarassed]
