My TS55 dropped on a rock, and both the base and inner shroud (item # 15, part no 459182) were cracked. The base I have replaced, but the pivot pin that joins the shroud to the base needs to be driven out to replace the shroud. My question is, which way does the pin need to be driven out? Does it go outwards, away from the body, or inwards, towards the handle?
If it has to go towards the handle, it looks like the motor has to be disassembled. Is this complex or not?
Thanks

FYI, I talked to Festool service, and the hinge pin must come out on the handle side.
To make space for it, you have to completely disassemble the saw,as the handle is in the way by just a few millimeters.
So I chose to send it to service to do this.
The low cost alternate would be to take a Dremel to the bottom of the saw handle and make a path for the pin. Decided not to do that this time - well see what it costs to do it properly...

Out of interest how much will it have cost you by the time the saw is returned to you and back in working order?  The reason I ask is in the UK I can find the saw on its own for £310.

So just wondering with the saw being out of action, spare parts, labour and postage if it was actually worth repairing. Especially as the new saw would come with a brand new blade to offset some of the cost in the future...
