Out of the box 1

Out of the box 2

I STAND CORRECTED! EDITED:
The key is completely  Useless for the  CORDLESS (Battery) Carvex.  It is only used for the CORDED Carvex. It is when you cut of the power supply on the CMS system and then turn it back on the jigsaw doesnt turn back on again so having that key in keeps the switch pushed on all the time so when you turn the power on and off it still turns the jig saw on

Making Circles  [blink]
[attachimg=#7]

Fully extended very large Circle

More Pictures. Videos Next!!

Angle Base. Good for fallowing a curve and you want to  put a angle on it. (Video later later on) Very Solid but does take a while if you was to go from one extreme to the other. Takes lots of turns  [unsure] Pictures below show one extreme to the other

[attachimg=#3]

Close up showing where the angle indicator is located!
[attachimg=#4]

At the moment Clean Carvex  [huh]
[attachimg=#5]

Carvex with no base  Maybe can be used with no base? If you cant get into some tight space?!?!?! (not recommend)
[attachimg=#6]

Carvex with base face forward (normal)
[attachimg=#7]

Carvex with base backwards (Not normal)  Maybe hand for getting up closer to a tight spot?!?!??!
[attachimg=#8]
[attachimg=#9]

This shows where the key goes Cordless Carvex
[attachimg=#10]

Again different angle

Heck I would buy it just to have the "stupid useless key"!!!    [big grin]

Hard to believe that Festool did not have a valid design for the key gizmo. Bet it costs $30 to replace.  [scared]

Thanks for the review. Sure wish it would come to the US soon.

Video Time

Here you can see a cool feature you might not all have seen on the Carvex

If you look really closely and keep watching the Video with out Blinking you will see the blade move back into position while turned on. This is because I pulled it out of place  this will also happen if you cutting wood and turn it off not allowing it to retract. The problem if it doesn't retract into place it will never retract again and you wont be able to remove the blade because it needs to be retracted to use the quick release button so festool have done something so after a bit when turned on it resets its self back into position.

WATCH CLOSELY!!!

It happens 12 second into the video. The round quick fit bit and blade moves into the jigsaw (RESET)

Carvex Special Feature!!!!

I was just informed by Shane Holland that when you switch the power off on the corded jigsaws and then turn the power back on they dont turn back on again so when its on the CMS you use to key to keep the switched pushed in so when you turn the power back on the jigsaw comes on.

Nice review mate, looking forward to the rest of it. [smile]

Maybe Shane can clarify why the corded version behaves that way? is it a new safety NVR type switch in the Carvex?

By the way that key looks like it might open the locking back panel of my Samsung phone! ;D

Well, I believe I know the answer.

Festool has become dedicated to producing tools which are ambidextrous.  If it was a positive ON/OFF switch, we couldn't provide a switch on both sides.  The toggle-style switch allows us to put power switches on both sides of the tool.  Hope that makes sense the way I explained it.

Well that is great thinking! While I am naturally right handed I do find that some tasks are easier with the left, on occasion, and to get a choice predesigned is great. I already use my TS55 with either hand quite happily.  [big grin]
Thanks for the reply Shane.

Wondered what the key thing was for. thanks for sheding light on it. was trying to turn it into a key ring thingy as i could see no use for it. [big grin]

I know its off-topic of the Special features!  but today was the first time I held the D handle Carvex. As you know I own the Carvex barrel grip. So might seem funny I aint handled the D handle well any way my first impressions of it was...........  Cheap!  The D-handle Carvex felt really cheap.

I took it of the stand and held the handle and it felt really thin and the trigger is horrible it isnt comfortable to use plus you have to push the safty button in first before bulling the trigger feels naff.  I couldnt believe it.  I think the barrel grip carvex feels firm and solid.    What I didnt like about the trigger was you had to push it straight up which isn't natural.  When you push triggers your fingers naturally go backwards so I would of thought the trigger would have more of a angled inwards motion and more of a round feel to it plus the trigger was set in abit people naturally go right to the front of the jigsaw with their hand till you hit the end as thats how you push the jigsaw forwards.

I dont know how to explain properly but I thought I would give my opinion of the D-handle.

I suspect the useless key to be a United States of Lawyers thing. The EU-version I just got (corded) has no such key. It also says "Not for sale in North-America" on the cute new systainer :)

Funny you should say that I posted on it the other day. I had been in my dealer and seen the Carvex for the first time in real life and it was the d handle cordless and I thought the exact same thing it looked really cheap like a DIY tool.

I have always had d grip jigsaws in the past but when i seen the barrel grip Carvex i had to have that one.  Feels so nice in the hand.

The Key thing is only for the corded versions I dont know why my cordless carvex came with one as it has no use with the cordless version.    The key is for the CMS so when they finally bring out CMS plate for the Carvex  then when you plug the carvex into the CMS and switch it on you will also have to switch the carvex on then when you turn the carvex on with the CMS then turn the power back on the carvex wont turn on so you have to turn the carvex back on again. So with this key you dont have to do that  you can switch the carvex on and off with the CMS power supply because the key keeps the carvex turned on all the time even if you switch the power on and off it will start up.     Try it with your carvex plug it in turn the carvex on but then unplug the carvex then plug it back in and the carvex wont turn back on with the key it will.  So you should off got one with the corded  I properly have yours lol.

Here are a few pictures first and I have two videos to upload!   I think this is Considered as a Special Feature of the Carvex being able to use 14.4 and 18V Festool Batteries.

Here you can see the 14.4 on the left and the 18V on the right which comes with a belt clip attached
[attachimg=1]

Here you can see the stickers are in a different place lol
[attachimg=2]

Here is a picture showing the difference between the two batteries and why the 18V wont fit the T15 but it will still fit the Carvex
