Review: Carvex Special Features!

At the moment there are 2 types of batteries BPS and BPC (where C stands for clip).
The BPC type is already sold in the UK and they come standard with the C12/15 Li-Ion drills but can also be used with the T12/15 machines. The 18V version can only be used for T18 drill and Carvex Li-18.
BPC 12 (#497019 ) at 67,65 pounds (BPC 12)
BPC 15 (#497020) at 97,60 pounds (BPC 15)
BPC 18 (#497253) at 96 pounds (BPC 18)

Prices are from Miles T&MC

So there is no need for modification of the 18V batteries.

Well I asked my dealer and he said he aint heard of anything for the 14.4 v carvex with clips.  So I didnt know they existed thought only the 18v at the moment had clips well now I know! cheers.  Might buy a 14.4 battery with a clip then in the future.

Soon there also will be a BPC 18 which is meant for the T18 drill.

So there is no need for modification the 18V battries.

Their soon wont be  a BPC 18 because the soon is now!  If you look above at the pictures I am showing you a standard 14,4 and a 18v with a clip and so you can see I already own the BPC 18

Here is the Second Video!

Oh I just weighed the 18V and 14,4v

14,4V = 593 grams
18V    = 677 grams

So the 18v is a little heavier which you can tell when picking up ofcorse so it will make your carvex a little heavier!

I do look a bit gay at the end but hey!   I did struggle getting it on my normal belt but I normally have another belt with my hammer and tape holder and everything and it clips onto that belt easier.

This Video shows  the first battery is the 14.4V (BPS15)  and then I attach the second battery which is 18V (BPC18)

I suspect the useless key to be a United States of Lawyers thing. The EU-version I just got (corded) has no such key. It also says "Not for sale in North-America" on the cute new systainer :)

The Key thing is only for the corded versions I dont know why my cordless carvex came with one as it has no use with the cordless version.    The key is for the CMS so when they finally bring out CMS plate for the Carvex  then when you plug the carvex into the CMS and switch it on you will also have to switch the carvex on then when you turn the carvex on with the CMS then turn the power back on the carvex wont turn on so you have to turn the carvex back on again. So with this key you dont have to do that  you can switch the carvex on and off with the CMS power supply because the key keeps the carvex turned on all the time even if you switch the power on and off it will start up.     Try it with your carvex plug it in turn the carvex on but then unplug the carvex then plug it back in and the carvex wont turn back on with the key it will.  So you should off got one with the corded  I properly have yours lol.

My bad. I didn't realize that the key came with the extras-systainer. I got my extra-goodies on friday (including the CMS-module), and there it was. yay :) Love it!

Don't really like the CMS-module for the TS55 though - too many parts. Not the smooth festool-experience I've grown used to.

you should have seen the Basis 1A plus and the ATF55 module before (former CMS system) , which i us still use.. this is much more complicated to handle.. this is the reason, why i bought a separate TS55 once it was available.. and simply kept the ATF55 in the table.

kind regards, Mike
