REVIEW OF FESTOOL FS-RAPID/1 (489790)

You can cut a 48" wide panel with the 55" rail.  Suggest you overlap toward the start of the cut so that both green guides on the saw are engaged on the rail.  That should give you enough distance to get through the cut and just run off the end of the piece.

Ideally, you'd have a few more inches on the rail beyond the 55", but it will cut 48" in my experience.

I’m looking to buy a set of these. I’m assuming that the “Right” version folds flat to the right hand side and the “left” version folds flat to the left hand side. Is this correct?

[member=75099]Setchi Design[/member] - There is only one clamp - with two pieces.  The handle can be rotated 180 degrees when clamping for whichever location works best in your situation.  They are handy when you need to clamp a rail.

Q for [member=59331]TSO Products[/member] Can the TSO GR-16 be use in conjunction with the FS-Rapid Clamp?

@marioTurcot - I have used the clamping end of the FS-Rapid1 with the GRS-16.  The rail will slip if you put too much clamping force on it, however.

If you are willing to use more rail, you can put the fixed side on in front of the GRS-16.

Thank you Neil.
