Rift-sawn white oak countertop: Scribe to wall or backsplash moulding??

Hi,

I just finished a rift-sawn white oak countertop but I am unsure about the transition to the wall. Scribed would look better but I am worried about wood movement. Do I need a small "backsplash" moulding for the transition to the wall?

Picture below.

Thanks!

It looks great!  I'd scribe to the wall and if you do have movement causing a gap then add the backsplash moulding

Looks like a job for a thin bead of clear silicone.

Agreed, with one slight change. I would use clear Latex caulking. It will seal the space just the same, but it is far easier to apply/clean-up and it is not shiny, thus not attracting the eye to the fact that is even there.
