My BIL (Bill Wyko also on this site) gave me this used RO 150. The switch slips to the off position when running, probably wear. I'd like to get the thing checked out and maybe refurbish the worn parts if it makes sense. Do you have any recommendation whether it is worth to spend the money if it needs bearings, etc.?

I'd say call Festool and talk to one of their service guys to see what they have to say. Even though this is an older model it could provide years of good service if repaired.

I just recently picked up this same model for $90 (including nothing except the attached cord).  I opened it up and gave it a good cleaning of the venting area and (literally) under the hood (lots of gunk and funk buildup).  New pad and shazaam..  Ran it for about 3 hours this past weekend stripping a large outdoor table.

Perhaps if you remove some of the body cover parts and you can at least see if the switch replacement can be done by you or if there is a buildup of funk in there.

UPDATE:
I talked to Festool service and was told they have a maintenence kit. It consists of a seal, switch cover, and brushes. So I called parts to order. Out of Stock ! I am to call back later in the month. More to come...

Good to know!  Did they give you a price?  I might put an order in for one just to be pro-active
