Hi All

My RO90 Sander has stopped working.  It hasn't had any issues in the past.  I used it about 2 weeks ago.  When I came to turn it on yestersday it's just dead.  No life at all.  Tried different plugits and different wall outlets.  Nothing.

It's outside warranty.  Is there anything I can check myself before I send it back to Festool for repair?

Since you have already tried a different Plug-it cable, I would have a look at the brushes, they might be worn.

I owned this sander but I never opened it up, I guess you can access them through the removeable panel on the back of the sander.

If it's just the brushes you can order new ones and install them yourself.

A thing you should also look at is the plug-it cable and the socket on the tool, to see if there are no burn marks there. Sometimes, if the plug is not seated properly, you can get arcing there which destroys both the plug-it cord and the socket. If this happens you need to replace both.

Beyond that, it might be the electronics circuit or the field coil, and those are more advanced and expensive repairs which Festool should do.

I agree with [member=5277]Alex[/member], if beyond brushes just send it in.  At least for me, the other likely issues are beyond my skill to repair myself.
