RO90 or DTS400?

I have an ETS125 for finish sanding and a RO125 for heavy duty sanding. I would love to have something for corners so I am considering a DTS400 or RO90 for the delta pad. I also want it for sanding edges of 2” or less.

I like the RO90 since the delta pad can be rotated three times for a clean edge. I like the DTS since it is less expensive.

Which is the better investment, or should I go for something totally different?  LS130?

I love my RO90 for forced rotation or random orbit mode, but I don’t find it has a lot of grunt with the delta pad. If getting into corners is a key requirement I’d advise a dedicated delta sander.

Of all of my Festool sanders (and I have too many) the DTS400 turned out to be the biggest pleasant surprise and delivered more than I expected it to. It does corners, it does edges, it does surfaces, very very well. After the ETS EC, the DTS is my favorite sander.

DTS 400, all the way & don't look back. Especially since you already have an ETS and a RO.

Dts 400 for what you are talking about. the ets 125 and dts 400 is my favorite combo for doing sanding work. Easy to match paper type and type for consistent results on a piece, stairs, etc.
Funny I was just using my RO90 yesterday on some old aluminum and thinking how much of a workhorse it is. Over time my RO90 sees less and less wood. Its become more of a small version of the Shinex for me. I use it on the bikes, rims, various metal more than anything else.

I have an RO90 and a DTS400.....For the work you describe, I would also agree with the others above...DTS400 would be my choice.

So I bought a DTS when I posted this three years ago and then I bought a RO 90. I must admit, I like the RO 90 a little more. It seems like it is easier to control and gives a better finish. But I still use the DTS from time to time.

Hmmm....  Seven Eight (forgot to count the RAS 115! [eek]....  Just added the RTSC.  I really like the DTSC 400 but the RO90 with the triangle pad is awesome!

I accidentally fell into a used DX 93 a few years ago and that is a great little sander if you can ever find one. I think it was Festool sander number nine for me. Ridiculous, I know.

I concur...the DX 93 is a charm, if one pops up grab it.  [big grin]

Here I'm using it on an 18V battery with the Milwaukee M18™ Top-Off™.

Should be noted that the Milwaukee topper is not rated for power tool use. 

Did you experience any issues ?  I'm guessing not, and if IRC the dx93 is a very low powered sander- so that makes sense.  Guessing it won't run a Rotex.

Everything worked fine, it ran the DX for almost an hour. It's not something I'd normally do but it's nice to know what options are out there for quirky applications.

I also tried using the ETS EC but that was a big no. Milwaukee advertises 175 watt capacity, the DX is 150 watts while the ETS EC is 400 watts.

I can concur with Cheese that it will run a low amp sander with no issues as I have run my DTS with mine.
