RO90 turns on and off randomly

That sounds pretty rough to me. Hard to diagnose from a video, but the sound makes me wonder about the bearings. Checking the length of the carbon brushes may indicate how much use it has had (unless they've been replaced). You can also check the "plate" sticker for the manufacturing date.

Check the carbon brushes

Do you know if the brushes from a RO125 or RO150 would be a direct replacement?  I could pull them from one of those and see if that is the issue.

I would also check the plug it cord connection. If you can see black around the connection on the cord or tool you should quit using the cord.

If you have another cord around, you could swap it out to see if it fixes the problem.

If they are left long enough, they will ruin the connector on the sander.

The cord looks good and the tool connector looks good.  I also tried a different cord but same behavior.  I took out the brushes and I think they look okay but not sure what to look for.  I had the cover of and turned it on briefly until it smelled like burning and a little smoke came from the motor area.  Maybe I need a new motor?  The sander is dated 1-2020.  I'm not sure if this was registered,  maybe it is still under warranty?

If the brushes are good and the cord makes good connection, I think it needs service.

I think Festool will do a quote but from what I hear if you decide to not go ahead with the repair it they return it at your cost
disassembled.

I don't know about the warranty, it could still be under warranty, but I have no experience other than a domino that was only a few months old.

Good luck with it.

I checked with Festool and they said it's not a registered tool under warranty.  I suspect it's the motor and it looks like it's $150 for a new one.  I got the sander for $175.  I'm not sure how much Festool charges for labor but maybe my best bet it to replace the motor myself and hope it's that.
