Rockwell blade runner

There's no legitimate reason why, but something inside me wants to punch that thing to crumbs looking at the videos for it.

I looked at one of these at Woodcraft and in my opinion it is not built for professional use.  It might be OK for a hobbyist building crafts.  I woodwork for a hobby and I don't want one.

This product and it's marketing are making me I'll!

Please festool don't ever go this route. Seeing festools sold at ace hardware will lead me to lose all respect for them.

there is a good idea in there somewhere but it is poorly exicuted. the jigsaw is weak .
this might not be so bad if it was made better

I think also what would make it a lot better! If it had a 3 way support at the top so the guard which drops down for dust extraction but also has 3 wheels one at the back and two either side of the blade and same at the bottom but this design only has 1 wheel at the rear of the blade so nothing is trying to stop the blades from deflecting by having the guard with 3 support bearings would stop the blade from deflecting at the top and having 3 under the cover where currently it only has one will stop it deflecting at the bottom  so it would be more like a band saw then.

Also being able to angle the blade would be a nice feature example for scribing I like to attach my jig saw to a bit of MDF or something and put a slight angle on it for when Im doing alot of scribing with timber no wider then 2 inch and with a mould off which makes it more awkward if you was just holding the jigsaw and the piece of wood so a bench makes it easy and better job

Ha! I had to watch the infomercial for it a while back, even my wife was laughing at the way they were trying to sell it.
But to the OP, no I have not used one and do not see myself ever buying one.
It's not a table saw, miter saw, scroll saw (like they try to sell it) ect. it's a jig saw with a big base plate.

You'd be better off making a jig for your current jig saw. I apologize if my initial comments seemed overly harsh, I didn't mean to come across that way. I thought it was a scroll saw at first just looking at the pics for it. It seems pretty flimsy looking at the vids, keep in mind we're all tool snobs. You'll get more use out of a bench to table saw than you would out of that guy, I'd look that way if I was you.

Old thread, but I have been thinking about it this long before I pulled the trigger.

I finally broke down and purchased one of these for 104.00 with 3 year warranty on Amazon and I must say it works nicely for me!

Yeah, it is basically an upside down jigsaw with guide bearing on top to hold the blade steady. It has plenty of power for me I cut 1/4"to 1/2" hardwoods and with the right blade you can get some good results once you work around its issues, like hopping around if the pressure foot is not just right. Does it replace my 20" DeWALT scroll saw, no, but for straight line cuts it actually better.

It takes Bosch T shank jig saw blades and with time, patience and the right blade you can get some darn good results. It's a 104.00 tool, not a Festool. Again, for me it's worth it for sure. Using a little jig, a fine blade and then a sanding jigsaw blade(I make them, sandpaer, adhered to fine blades) I can make these little letters pretty nicely. Heavy duty work I have no idea I don't use it for that.

And no way in heck would I make a jig for my jigsaw to work as well as this tool, well I could but why Especially for 104.00. I prefer using my Festool jigsaw when moving the tool and this Bladerunner when moving the material.
