Ron Paulk new video on an updated work bench

Hi Paul,

I am of course looking at things from the german perspective, but I have seen quite a few of the festool stuff being offered in a box and not a systainer. Maybe you could press your dealer to get the cardboard box version.
This could all be changing with the new make over?

Would just be interested if they have it in USA.

Over the years I have noticed that many people treat my work with the mentality of"what doesn't cost anything is not worth anything."
So I am happy to see you putting a small charge on you hard work.

Pip,
I haven't needed any new tools in a while so their policy may have changed. Selling the boxes on CL worked out well as I sold them for 90% of what they cost to order without tool, which offset the price of the tool a fair amount. I am thinking about getting the new TS55 even though my original one is performing as new, maybe I can purchase it sans systainer.  The systainers are fantastic boxes, but I can get more than twice as many tools in my truck or trailer using an adjustable cubby system. Also, I find it quicker to grab what I need without having to open a box. Others have found the systainers help them a great deal and in my opinion it does matter what system is used as long as you have a system that is efficient for the type of work you do. Most contractors in my area are pretty disorganized hauling their tools piled in the back of a pickup. I have also noticed only about 3 out of 100 carpenters around here have even heard of Festool much less own any.

Thanks,
Ron

Very few of the powered tools were offered here without the systainers.  The OF2200 I know was, the Kapex (wouldn't fit) and perhaps the OF700(?)  The items not offered were considered production tools that would have a slim chance of going back into a systainer.  I think that the Kapex is the only one available without a systainer now.

G'day Ron, ... [Paul] , Mr Paulk...
Sry... Let me explain... In a previous post ( that was written after a few brews... nuff said).... Well clearly I was a bit confused( or otherwise ) cause I couldn't tell Ron from Paul and well my head hurt....

Anyway, Ron,
Kudos on the new bench plan...
I don't see why you couldn't do both... ie; have the bench mass produced and sold... And still sell plans. I know his setup is a little different, but Alan Little aka "Ask Woodman" does exactly that... He recently set up "Very Super Cool Tools" to sell the same tools and setup that he offers vid tutorials on for free on his other website....
Don't sell yourself short Ron...
You can have your cake and eat it too, no crime in maximizing your market penetration...
Cheers, sober this time, lol
