Effective September 1, Festool will be offering some new promotions - as supplies last!

   http://www.bobmarinosbesttools.com/

First is the free watch celebrating the Rotex's 25th year in production, included with the Rotex 150 (571-629) and the Rotex 125 (571-623). Actually, it's a damn nice watch on it's own!

The new (here in the USA anyhow) Centrotec Assortment Bit Systainer (493-633) which includes 160 pieces packed in a Sys 1 Systainer - except for square drives, it has most anything you'd need - as supplies last!

Free Panther blade with the purchase of either the TS 55 or TS 75 Saw - offer good until 10/31/07.

C12 Belt Hook (494-776) - as supplies last.

A whole boat load of new tenons for the Domino DF Q 500 Joiner - different woods and smaller packs. Also, a Handrail Fence for securing round work pieces to the Domino.

More info forthcoming on the tenons, belt hook and panther blade promo (as I update my web-site) and I am taking pre-orders for all the above. Shipping starts September 1.

I misread the promotion as Rolex 25th...  ;D  Now my dreams are dashed.

Steve,

You'd really prefer a 25th Anniversary Rolex to a Rotex :o ??? ;)?

Yeah but I already have a Rotex and as good as it is, it is too heavy when strapped to my wrist and isn't very good at keeping time.  I think that random orbit thing is throwing it off.

Steve if you put the Rotex is rotary mode, it keeps perfect time.  ;)

Will the Rotex Anniversary Watch be available for purchase separately?   I already bought a Rotex 150 last year   :(

Never mind,  I see it selling for $75 on Bob's site.  I guess it is a bit cheaper than a Rolex...  is it Swiss made?  ;D

Brice,

It is a tropical hardwood, similar to mahogany, called Sipo. It has high resistance to mold, fungus and insects, ideal for outdoor applications.  More info to follow.

Bob,

I have a general question on specials/promotions: does Festool normally offer specials just once per year (e.g. end of summer) coinciding with the new catalog or have they had a history of running specials whenever they feel like it?

There is always one when a new tool gets introduced. No they don't always have a set time/season for new promotions, though one seems to come up as a "holiday/end of year" promo, but I also don't think it is as loose as "when they feel like it".  Some years back, the offered the ETS 150/3 sander to NEW PROFESSIONAL customers only, for a price of $59.00 or $69.00!!! Festool USA may have been given a break on the price from Festool Germany, but still took a loss at that price.  Festool needed to do something "extreme" to get these sanders into the pro's hands, as Festool was in a way different place at that time - waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay lower name recognition.  Something like that won't happen again. I am sure there are good discussions, probably in consultation with Germany, as to what and when to offer as a special.

Hi,

That bit assortment is very tempting.  If you have seen it  - do you know if it has any extra slots for additional bits that are not in the set?  For example the self-centering bit, or additional brad points.  Also why TWO extra chucks? Do these wear easily?

No they don't but you can have a drill/countersink mounted in one chuck and a screwdriver bit in the other and change as quick as Clarke Kent changes into Superman. ;D

Faster than a speeding bullet....  Look, up in the air, it's a bird, it's a plane...

How many of you have no clue what I'm talking about, just out of curiosity?

I bet I'm almost the youngest one here, but I watched and loved the black and white 'Daddy Reeve' Superman as a kid. Here in Australia, the Adam West Batman is on every day. My three YO watches it and loves it. I couldn't believe I never figured out as a kid that the 'to be continued' cliffhangers never were continued.

a documentary my friend shot about the Superheroes on Hollywood Boulevard:http://therealsuperhero.com/

Yeah, but isn't the centrotec a quick change chuck? In other words quick change the bit not the entire chuck?
