I'm in contact with a seller who has the RO90 DX FEQ-Plus No 571823 in a T-Loc Systainer. I'm interested in the sander but was wondering if anyone can tell me what was originally included with this kit?

The current RO90 DX FEQ-Plus No 576263 comes with cable, edge protector and delta pad for $549. Did all these accessories come with the 571823 kit? Trying to determine an appropriate price if the edge protector and delta are missing. I'm presuming the tool is over six years old by this point and out of warranty (should that be a concern - are there any reliability issues with the RO90?). Original offering price was $300 and we're currently at $275. Is this a solid deal or am I over thinking things?

Thanks!

Luv - I was actually in the area today picking up the SYS-AZ drawers from a different buyer but we were unable to connect while I was in the area. Maybe I'll head there on Thursday.

Thanks for the clarity.

[member=75933]luvmytoolz[/member] $1200??? Wow.

Just looked at the conversion table. What you pay for the RO90 ($1200) is more (=US$756) than we pay for the RO150 (US$699).

I've heard that your import duties into Australia are pretty high. Is that what's driving these relatively higher prices?

Just look at what it would cost to buy the missing parts separately if you want them. Then go from there. The RO 90 is the newest from the bunch. I think it was only introduced in 2011?

To see what was included with older SKU's you need to track down an old catalog. See here;https://www.festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/historical-festoolfesto-catalogs/

Note that the SKU's will also vary based on country. E.g.; the US has 110V, the UK has a different plug, etc.

They need tax revenue to buy submarines to protect their trade (mainly with China) from Chinese influence  [wink]

If it's not from Asian suppliers we've always pretty much been ripped off on pricing on everything with a much smaller range of available products available to us. Shipping usually is extremely prohibitive, with the US being the worst in this case. For some reason even a tiny parcel from the US seems to be incredibly expensive in most cases, although I have bought stuff from the US with very reasonable postage, so I don't understand the disparity.

Case in point, some imported toolboard I use to machine molds from is only available from a single supplier in our state, and they only stock probably the most popular 5% of the range, which really creates a lot of waste and cost due to the limited sizes and grades.

In my experience, the RO90 is a tough little tool. My first RO90 was actually my second Festool purchase, right after the DF500. I got it primarily for the delta pad option and dust extraction, since I was using pneumatic sanders with zero extraction ability. It turns out that I didn't use the delta pad as much as I thought I would, but it is still great to have.
I mostly use it, in Rotex mode, for blending uneven surfaces and edges of Corian countertops, occasionally for polishing acrylic edges too. Some of types cannot be flame polished.
The one accessory I would suggest is the hard pad. I use that one the most.

[member=8955]Coen[/member] - Thanks, that's a great resource to see the older catalogs. Lots of interesting stuff - on just a cursory look. And I understand you when you talk about different countries having specific SKUs. Couldn't find the exact SKU but did find packages for the RO90. Looks like if I were to buy the delta SSH-GE-STF-RO90DX and 90FX Edge Guard, it would cost me about US$65 - add that to the $275 and $340 isn't a bad buy, I think.

[member=75933]luvmytoolz[/member] That extra cost and limited availability does suck. My only knowledge of Australia's higher costs are from cigar smokers who tell me that your country is very strict on even personal cigars brought into the country during holiday visits. Only so much is allowed before customs hits you with a heavy levy.

[member=58857]Crazyraceguy[/member] Thanks for the thoughts. I'd like to add the RO90 mainly to round out machine capabilities. Understood on perhaps not needing the delta as much. I do have the DTS400, if I don't get the delta straightaway.

[member=82312]onocoffee[/member] I get that aspect too. I'm just saying that it's a very capable tool. I still use mine quite frequently. Like I said, it was my first Festool sander, of what, 6?
My least used is the RTS, it was also my latest. It's one of those, sit doing nothing for weeks, then it's the best choice.

Get the hard pad..... [big grin]

Of all the things our gov loves, tobacco and alcohol are extremely high on the list, and are very tightly controlled as they raise so much revenue. Hence a massive black market for tobacco that has led to some several dozens of attacks and firebombings of tobacconist shops here as the rival gangs battle each other! A few months back it was just about one every week.

[member=75933]luvmytoolz[/member] Woah. That's nuts!!!

This are stats for just one state, basically bikie gangs attacking other bikie gangs. Pretty normal. ;-)

And then there's the illegal vape trade on top!

"Arson Attacks:
There have been over 100 arson attacks on tobacco stores in Victoria since March 2023, with some incidents involving multiple explosions."
