I'm looking to purchase an OF 1400 Router (Item number 574692).  Looks like in the US they are currently backordered at most suppliers...  I'm wondering if anyone has an inside scoop on why they aren't being sold in the new SYS3 Systainer?  I've recently purchased a bunch of SYS3's and a CXS drill which also came in a SYS3.

I almost pulled the trigger on pre-ordering one from a supplier that has them on backorder, but if there's a chance they'll start coming with a SYS3 later in the year, I may wait it out.

Toolnut.com has them available for pre-order with an estimated ship date of August 5th. If anyone outside of Festool has an answer to your question it might be [member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] . He is as knowledgable and plugged into what Festool is doing as anyone I have encountered.

[member=75878]Josef[/member] Festool has not communicated anything to dealers about a Sys3 transition for the OF 1400 at this time. That likely means they still have ample inventory of that router in the T-LOC Gen II Systainer.

[member=101]Festool USA[/member] may be able to give more intel or an ETA.

Thanks,
Shane

[member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] and [member=66185]Alanbach[/member] thanks so much for the intel.  I guess it's not the end of the world to get a T-LOC Gen II - it's a great container.  But loving that extra hinge on the SYS3.  Thanks, again.

I came into ownership of a 1400 that was in a Classic Systainer.

Hating Classics for tools i need to get at more often, i bought a Systainer3 for it, and it fit with a little finesse, cutting the top styrofoam, etc.

I had contacted Festool about it if they had the molded plastic and lid insert/foam available for the 1400 in a Sys3, and was just told "nope".

That’s good to hear you were able to make it work. Too bad they weren’t more helpful. Given that they are switching everything over a bit of love for those of us adopting the new sustainers would be welcome!
