Somewhere in the back of my head I thought there was two Festool routers that could handle the 1/3 & 1/2 bits?  I know the 1400 does but I thought there was another one too.

Hi Suds and Everyone,

In the USA, the OF1400 includes 1/4", 8mm and 1/2" collets;

The OF1010 includes 1/4" and 8mm collets. It will not accept 1/2" shanks;

The OF2200 includes just a 1/2" collet. Although it is possible to use 1/4" and 8mm collets with the OF2200, this is not recommended.

OF-1010 (OF-900/OF-1000) can accept 6mm 1/4" and 8mm collets
MFK-700 accepts  6mm, 1/4" and 8mm collets.
OF-1400/OF-2000/OF-2200 use the same collets. You can buy in the USA 1/4", 8mm, 3/8" and 1/2". These sizes NAINA: 6mm, 10mm and 12mm

My 1400 and 2200 use different collets, the 1400 uses a 22mm wrench and the 2200 uses a 24mm one. I don't know if that has changed in the last couple years.

You're both right...

The OF 1400 used to have different collets but now they use the same as the OF 2200.

These collets were updated a couple years ago, so they are slightly better. All new routers go with newer collets, but you can use old and new collets on all OF-1400/OF-2000/OF-2200 without any limitations.
