Can someone from abroad tell me if they have used and like this sander and talk about it a bit.

It appears to be eccentric gear driven like a Rotex and has almost twice the power of an RS2.

If it is substantially more powerful than an RS2 as it appears to be I could make good use of one.

I did not have this model, but it's twin the RS100 Q, without the C. The difference was mine was the model with an on-board fan for active dust collection, while the C model has non and relies solely on a dust collector. Beyond that they're basically the same.

When I just got into Festool there was a period I would buy every Festool I could get my hands on through the used market, try the tool and sell it off again if I didn't like or need it.

So also with the RS 100 Q, my impression is it was a very heavy and powerful sander with a smooth operation. Not as smooth as the RS200, but still a big machine that slides over the surface with little effort. Also easy to control. Not comparable to the Rotex though, it has nowhere near the same removal rate. But very good to smooth out the bigger and rougher surfaces.

My focus with sanders is mostly on paint prep for houses, so this one had little use for me and I sold it off again. But since you work with inlays for floors, I can see how this would give you a little more oomph than the RS200 you probably already have. But don't expect it to be a square Rotex.

Thanks for the info

When I buy a tool like this with never using it especially from abroad, this time Germany, it's a crap shoot. In this case a 680.00 crap shoot. And being 220V it would be tough to resell. So thanks for the information. I might go for it.

I sold the RS2, it was only 300 watts orbital and really a finish sander, a nice one but not for me. This thing is 620 watts, gear driven and designed to flush up parts, so it appears to fit a niche for me.

For the record my back is shot, I make inlays and  about 75% do go in floors, but I haven't personally  bent over to touch a floor(for a paying job anyhow) in 10 years. I do run crews that do the work on the floors on many occasions.  :)

The RS 100 Q is 620 watts.

The RS 100 CQ is only 520, not sure why there's a difference.
