{apologies if this is a duplicate post - keep trying to include a photo and it keeps crashing things}

Was looking at a friend’s Bulthaup kitchen and noticed a detail I hadn’t seen before.  At the end of the end panels that meet the floor (say on the side of the island or a fridge) there is a small rubber gasket(?) between the panel and the floor. [I’ll put a photo in the next post]  Nice way to protect the panel from water, etc.

Has anyone ever seen/used something like this?

I called around to typical vendors to see if anyone stocked anything like it and no one had any suggestions.

Called Bulthaup but they say everything is proprietary.

Anyone know where to source something like this?

Or, how are/would you protect an end panel like this?  I’ve always just edgebanded and sealed the bottom but looking for something a little more robust.

Thanks in advance,

Anthony

Here's a picture of the rubber.

Ya good luck with that... [smile]

About a year ago I was looking for the exact same thing, a cap for a 2x4 or 2x6. I spent the better part of 4 hours searching for the thing but never found an available commercial item. I came to the conclusion that it was a custom molded proprietary item.  [sad]

Is this soft...rubbery.  If not it appears to me to be ABS plastic, 1/4" or 3/16".  Easily self fabbed, ABS is soft can be shaped like wood and if the edges are flamed or brushed with acetone will appear factory made.

Something like this?

4 PK - Vinyl End Cap For 2x4 Wood Post Stud Cover (1-1/2  x 3-1/2 ) Rubber  | eBayhttps://ebay.us/a5Ac3F

Here's another possibility, but only you can answer if this will work for your situation.https://www.kidbeachcruisers.com/2x...stems-set-of-6-multiple-colors-available.html

Yes, it’s rubbery. Not ABS unless there’s an ABS I’m unfamiliar with.

Any thoughts?
