Running Dual Hoses on the CT MIDI I Information

I spent days looking around and going back and forth online trying to find the proper information and parts needed to run a multi hose system on the CT MIDI I and be truly functional. I have provided a list of the parts needed to to achieve this option to help out anyone looking for the same information. Using this setup with the Two Cordless ETSC 125s have been amazing and only need it at bar three on the suction level.

Process: You will need the D50 hose to run of the CT MINI I to the D 50 connector sleeve (Adapter) to connect the Y Adapter which can then spit to Two(2) D27 or D36 hoses. This will also provide options down the line for more hoses and connections and keeps the anti static option active.

NOTE: No hose modification required.

Are you doing something to cap one while not in use? I've been looking around for a decent solution of a blast gate for two hoses off a CT-VA 20 (cyclone) and there are some on Etsy, but I've not gone for it yet.

For something else in the realm of dual hose needs, I wanted to get the bottom port and upper blade guard port on my DeWALT 9491 on dust collection. Festool helped me out there with the hose kit for a CS/TKS, part number 577280, AB-AS CS/TKS Dust Extraction Hose Set.

I do that too. Sometimes with the ETSC in the edge guide, sometimes with both ascending grits. Both sanders share the Y- adapter without gating just fine, ime. The vac triggering gets handled via bluetooth on the cordless sander and plug-it on the other. I can see why people shy away from the cordless sanders but they're really a versatile arrow in the quiver.

I had the same issue changing between tools.

l created my Switcher that clips onto the midi and plugs into the midi tool outlet, changing between tools you just need to push/pull the gate, either of the two tools plugged in will activate
the Midi.

I saw something similar somewhere on the internet a couple months ago where the person had taken the Y-connector out of the vac port and attached a Festool Blast Gate to each branch that controlled the suction. Might consider incorporating that.

Instead of dual ETSC 125 with expensive 50mm hose, sleeve, Y (and separate extra hose!?) you can use dual ETS 125 with dual CT Midi for the same money  [wink]

Works a charm - have had this configuration for years. The last few years with the Y stuck into a CT-VA 20 (separator). There have been posts here about a potential loss of suction with the CT-VA in the loop, but in my experience it hardly matters.

You have a good point Coen! I was looking into a 2 sander and 2 dust extractor setup, but with the sites we are working on we normally only have a 10 to 15 amp plug for access so I try to limit the power usage or go battery. I was looking into the Cordless dust extractor but the run time is the problem with that.

Two Midi's at lowest setting will use less than one Midi that was to suck the same amount of air through a Y.

We did try this and kept having issues with breakers tripping on certain worksites or clients homes. After going to one unit with cordless sanders we started having better results and it was easier for the employee's to stay mobile. I honestly think its our certain worksites with very old wiring. I would still like the dual sander and dual extractor setup to use on larger worksites especially the stairs we have been sanding lately!
