Safest/best way to make this cut without a router table?

In my ongoing quest to see what life could look like without stationary tools, I'm building a bed frame and trying to only use Festool tools. I've so far avoided the table saw, and now trying to avoid the router table.

My first thought is just to double-side tape the template to the workpiece and trim to final shape, and I guess use a same thickness support piece to rest the router on?

- Double-face tape the spacer/support piece to the router base.

I would just go for the loop-hole, and classify a router clamped upside down as a "non-stationary" tool.

If you've got a tip bearing bit, it'd be easier to put template on the bottom and not have to worry about tippy bases.  Double sided tape all the way down if you're comfortable reaching.  Otherwise tape it to a scrap board that you can clamp + rotate.

A router table can be as simple as a router clamped upside down to a table, or possibly bolting the router to a piece of plywood with a hole cut where the bit comes out. I'd suggest one of these two approaches to quickly make a router table for these small pieces.
